#6632 - c. 1980's TOMASZ STARZEWSKI Black Chantilly Lace Dress! Here's your chance to dress like a real Princess!  Tomasz Starzewski is a British designer who started his career in 1981 designing eveningwear for celebrities and royals... most notably for the late Diana, Princess of Wales and Sarah Ferguson. By the early '90s he had built one of the UK's most exclusive and socially coveted women's labels, encapsulating elegance and luxury, and with a design philosophy of 'glamour, pure glamour'. His dress prices START at about $1800!  This one would have likely cost more.  Gorgeous fine black Chantilly lace over a white satin. Scalloped hemline, fitted bodice, "v" low waistline seaming and full gathered skirt. Back zipper. I added the black satin ribbon/bow at the waist, but it doesn't come with it, and looks great with or without... I just had fun. I also added some crinolines under, but looks fine without as well. Fashionable Tea length or Ballet Length.  Near Mint condition. Straps are perfect width for a bra under. Yeah!Measures:  34" bust, up to 28" waist, 50" long from shoulder to hem. NEW LISTING!

#6628 - c. 1930's Unique Print Gauzy Gown! Unique open-weave gauzy material (probably a cotton/linen blend - though doesn't seem prone to wrinkling) and even more unique print design of an Aesop Fable "The Fox and the Grapes".  Looks like it was silkscreen printed with fun dancing foxes.  He is clothed and carries a basket while standing under the grapes, which (according to the fable by Aesop -500BC), the fox is unable to reach.  Plunging "v" neckline, diamond shape at cleavage with runching, dropped waist, side metal zipper, floor length with sweeping full skirt.  A great collector's piece!  Measures: 34/35" bust, up to 28" waist, 62" long from shoulder to hem.  Excellent condition with just two extremely minor issues... the zipper is sticky, but works and there are two teeny spots at mid-back (see last photo).  Big deal!  NEW LISTING!

#6256 - c. 1950's GASTWIRTH Black All Ruffle "Rumba" Dress! Where's Sarah Jessica Parker? I have a feeling she would love this dress. I'm not sure why I call this "rumba"... just the first word that came to mind.  Word association...you know. Front and back look exactly the same so you won't know if you are coming or going... but nothing new about that, eh?? :) Black rayon dress has 25 lines of ruffles that surround the dress. Measures: up to 39" bust (most of that is at front, so best for large cup booby gal :), elastic hidden at waist, 47" long from shoulder to hem. Side metal zipper. Shown with a crinoline which doesn't come with it. Excellent condition.  NEW LISTING!

#6487- c. 1950's EMMA DOMB, California Killer Gold Lame Brocade Party Dress!  To Die For Vintage! Sexy Drop Dead Gorgeous! Awesome!  Let's see... how many more superlatives should I write??? Whatever I do, it won't be enough.  Exquisite gold lame brocade hugs the bodice like an Oscar statuette!  Then comes the VERY poufy skirt with gathered sides from the sexy low drop waistline.  Scoop neckline.  Back metal zipper. Small net crinoline slip attached.  Dress is shown with extra crinoline under (not included). You WILL stop traffic in this dress!  Measures:  33/34" bust, 24/25" waist, 38" long from shoulder to hem (3" hem lightly basted if you want the skirt longer.  I like it this length, so I left it as is). Near mint condition.  The only thing to mention is that the armholes are slightly short (as they often were back then), but just for those of you who are ultrasensitive....   Don't wait.  This WON'T last long!! #6528 - c. 1950's HOWARD GREER, Beverly Hills Navy Silk Chiffon Dress with Bell Sleeves! This dress is SO lovely on ME. Ok, it looks good on the mannequin too, but she looks good in everything... she doesn't have my figure flaws (wide hips, pear shape body).  Also... I should say upfront... this is NOT a modern size 10, it's more like a 6, so I just didn't want you gals to get all excited.  Who is Howard Greer? You should know if you are a vintage fashionista, but if you are like the new crop of fashionistas.... they need a bit more education.. just ask Sarah Jessica Parker as she was begin honored with a fashion icon tribute. Trying not to display favoritism to any contemporary designer, Ms. Parker wore a tulle dress by Howard Greer. ''But nobody's ever heard of him,'' Ms. Parker said.  She turned to Howard Sokol, the chief executive of Barneys New York. ''Have you heard of Howard Greer?'' Mr. Sokol looked stumped. Geesh!! I wish they would actually teach fashion history in fashion school!!!!!  Anyway, for all the info on Howard Greer who designed for the movies and movie stars during Hollywood's golden age, see the Vintage Fashion Guild's listing at: http://www.vintagefashionguild.org/content/view/1160/121/   Navy silk chiffon dress with white passementarie trim, double layered bell sleeves (awesome!), low sexy neckline, fitted waist, slightly gathered skirt.  Measures:  35" bust, 27.5" waist, up to 37" hips, 28" long skirt with extra 2-3" hem if you want the original length. Back metal zipper. Excellent condition with just tiny pulls at the waist which I assume was from a pin (she knew how to dress!).  A sweetheart of a dress.  Sarah Jessica Parker would approve!! :)  NEW LISTING!

#9944 - c. 1950's CEIL CHAPMAN Cotton Floral Print Party Dress with Velvet Ribbon/Bow! Ceil Chapman has such a following in the vintage world.  And well-deserved in my opinion.  You can often find "dogs" from other well-known vintage designers... but every Ceil Chapman dress I've seen has been nice. Some more special than others (as you'd expect) and this is one of those extra pretty ones!  At first look, you'd expect it to be silk, but surprise surprise, it's a printed cotton!  GREAT for those Summer or Southern evenings! Has the classic diagonally gathered bodice.  The silver hued-pink velvet ribbon/bow is separate so can be worn at waist or empire, with bow at front or at back.  Just move the hooks to fit you.  Excellent condition with just the slightest hint (barely seen by most!) of darkening at underarm edge. Boned bodice. Back metal zipper. Shown with an extra small crinoline under. Measures:  32/33" bust, 23/24" waist, 45" long from shoulder to hem, 29/5" long from waist to hem. A bit too small for the mannequin, so the back is slightly open in the photos. I'm sure your body is softer! :)  NEW LISTING!

#6439 - c. 2000's CINEMA Haute Couture Sexy Black Corset Dress!  I found this dress stashed in with some vintage pieces and, of course, you know right away it's not vintage, but damn, you know it's SOMETHING special!  Cinema Haute Couture was founded in London in 1976, and then expanded to Greece, France, Italy, Australia, USA and beyond.  There are patented brasserie in all garments! The sexy alluring designs are made from the finest fabrics from France and Italy and have been worn by Catherine Zeta-Jones, Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey.... and now you!   If you want to visit their shop in Melbourne Australia, they will offer you luxurious one-on-one attention with a limo ride to the studio, wine and hor d'oeuvres, and an in-house model sashaying in the dresses for your viewing pleasure.  All this for $2,000-$3,500 per dress!  Or skip the limo and buy from this website and save yourself enough for a plane ticket to Australia! :).  Black all gathered sheer material over a nude lining.  The entire front of the dress has hooks up the front and a corseted tied back with satin trim! Stretches to hug the body like no other!  Tiny black beads at bustline.  Excellent condition (though the lining has strange shadows - can't explain that).  VERY stretchy!  Shown on mannequin 33" bust, 24" waist, 35" hips, but also goes on me at 33" bust, 27" waist, 38" hips, 30" long from shoulder to hem with a 5-7" ruffle bottom! The cleavage is eye-popping, so just be prepared to fight off the men! :)  NEW LISTING!

#6539 - c. 1950's Made in France for Saks Fifth Avenue Heavy Linen Floral Dress! I call this my "Monet - Gardens at Giverny" dress. I'm showing the painting below the dress... what do you think?  Eh?  No surprise this dress was made in France.  It's a heavy, almost canvas weight (you know... I guess that continues to theme of an oil painting!) printed linen fabric, scoop neckline, sleeveless, back metal zipper, and matching thin belt, kick pleat back, lined skirt. Wear a masterpiece! Excellent condition. Labeled size 12, but that is old sizing! Measures: 36" bust, 27" waist, up to 37" hips, 41" long from shoulder to hem, 25.5" long from waist to hem (there is a 2" hem if you want it a bit longer).    NEW LISTING!

#9947 - c. 1950's DAVID HART Red Lace Party Dress! I am showing the back of the dress because you'd not necessarily expect it from the front.  The front is a simple boat neck, so this is one of those dresses meant to entice from behind.  Just expect him to tap you on the shoulder from behind to see just who is in that dress! OK.. the dress got you this far... now it's up to you to entice him further! :)  So pretty... all red lace that "pops" as you see from the photos.  Very interestingly different tight pleating at the upper skirt (see photos), bow at back, comes with original matching thin belt, cap sleeves.  The skirt has 4 layers of crinolines!! Labeled size 10, but that's a way old sizing.  Don't believe it! Side metal zipper, boned bodice.  Excellent condition with just a hint of darkness of lace under the arms, not seen when worn unless you are hailing a cab!  :)  Measures: 34" bust, 24" waist.  NEW LISTING!

#6445- c. 1991 MICHAEL HOBAN, WHERE MI, 1991 Black Leather Skirt and Motorcycle Jacket Appliqued with Huge Red and Green Leather Roses and Banners of "True Love"!  The BEST leather outfit I've ever see! For a girly-girl with attitude!  Michael Hoban is "the" name in leathers. He was the designing brains behind North Beach Leather - so popular in the 1980's.  This line created in 1991 under his own label created "message" leathers.  However, the 1990's was all about Georgio Armani-type luxurious simplicity clothing, and snazzy leathers were "out".   But it's time to revive fashion!  It's gotten so boring!! Wear your tattoos on your clothing.  It's time for a little "True Love"... especially if you are a big fan of "The Princess Bride" movie (those of you who are will understand).  Heavy metal zippers at front and cuffs and pockets.  Excellent condition with only one problem... the belt buckle is missing the metal "tongue", so it's a trip to the shoe repair, or can certainly be worn without it - just not as securely.  Skirt Measures:  28" waist, 36" hip, 17.5" long from waist to hem.  Jacket Measures: 19" long from back neck to hem. The jacket back has expandable gussets for stretch and comfort. Fully lined pieces.  NEW LISTING!

#9943 - c. 1950's HELEN BOND CARRUTHERS Soft Royal Blue Cashmere Sweater with Off-White Floral Embroidery!  I could give you all the information about Helen Bond Carruthers, but if you Google search, you will find all the same information... including the fact that these are highly prized and collected... and the fact that celebrities like Elizabeth Taylor bought ten at a time! However, I assume that you already know about "HBC" sweaters... and the prices they can command (easily twice this price at auction!!)... so... you have been lying in wait to pounce on the next one to become available.  This sweater comes new to the market from a woman in Louisville KY.... about 50 miles from Versailles KY where Helen Bond Carruthers sweaters were created.  Gorgeous soft royal blue (not a harsh color, but still bold) cashmere cardigan with off-white floral embroidery front and back and on cuffs.  The sweater buttons up the front with matching crochet balls.  Fully lined in white sheer silk crepe.  And yes, the label and banded hemline are correct.  3/4 length sleeves. Excellent condition.  No pills or wear or moth holes... nothing wrong! Ready to wear or for your collection.  Measures:  36" bust, 30" waist (slightly lower than natural waistline), 19" long from shoulder to hem.  I'd still call it a Small as the shoulders are best for a small.. and it fits me great!  I'm a 33" bust, 26" waist.   NEW LISTING!

#6208 - c. 1950's HAYETTE, New York Pink Linen Embroidered Sundress!  Sold at The Window Shop, Cold Spring Harbor, LI, NY.   Waaah!  Too small for me :(  Barely even fits onto the mannequin and she is 33" bust, 24" waist, so you will need to be one of those waif-like girls to wear this as is... OR... if you love it enough, get creative at the back with grommets and lacing (corset-like) or some other interesting back detail to make it fit. I lived in the next town to Cold Spring Harbor, Long Island, NY growing up, so I remember this shop, I think.   Measures: 32/33" bust, 23" waist, 38" long from shoulder to hem, 23" long from waist to hem (slightly long-waisted).  Excellent condition.  Unlined to keep you cool (or as cool as you can be in a mid-weight linen). #6284 - c. 1950's Jeannette Alexander of California Nude Linen Dress with Huge Ribbon Bow and Flowers!  So pretty... like a fairytale dress. Nearly nude colored dress with modified sweetheart neckline, piped fitted waistline and nice wide straps with buttons at back.  The only decoration being the wide spring green band at the hemline at back that dips up in front into a huge bow!  The finishing touch is the spray of 3-D flowers above the bow.  Sundress design but in a heavier weight linen so not great for 85+ degrees. Find a nice 70-80 degree day or evening.  Bodice is unlined to keep you as cool as possible.   Back metal zipper. The price reflects the minor speckle spots on both the dress and the ribbon and the slight fading of the green at one side (see photos).  But the dress is just soooooo unique and pretty... you just have to overlook the minor flaws.  Measures:  36" bust, 27" waist, 30.5" long from waist to hem.   NEW LISTING!

YEAH!  Actually although I date it to 2000's, I have no idea of the date of this dress.  All Lilly Pulitzers look alike to me! All pink and green and classic styling. This one is especially pretty with small cutout butterflies in various directions floating on this empire waisted dress. Finished with pink satin ribbon.  High neckline with straps.  Back zipper.  Lined in white cotton.  Mint condition. Measures:  34" bust, up to 38" hips, 36" long from shoulder to hem. #9760 - c. 1950's ADELE SIMPSON Brown Jacquard Silk Satin Dress with Black Bead Trim and Fringe The only way I know this is Adele Simpson is that the belt has a very worn logo on the back.  Glad the belt was still with the dress as so many belts became orphans over the years. If I ever win the lottery, I will spend the rest of my life dedicated to matching back up orphan belts with their original dresses!  Now that's a great humanitarian reason for living, eh? :)  Fitted bodice with flattering sweetheart neckline, little cap sleeves dripping in black beads and skirt with attached beaded overskirt evoking an Edwardian look. Condition of the dress is excellent, with the exception of some dull black beads and some beads missing mostly seen in the hem fringe. Certainly could be replaced easily... just time consuming.  A lovely dress that doesn't quite fit the mannequin (she won't stop eating!).  Measures: 33" bust, 23/24" waist, up to 38" hips. Labeled size 10.. ha!  Priced to reflect bead loss.  NEW LISTING!

#6490 - c. 1992/93 BRUCE OLDFIELD COUTURE, Custom Made, London Blue Taffeta Dress with Huge Pearl Ornament at Side! I was lucky enough to be at the Princess Diana Dress Auction just prior to her death... and that was my first introduction to Bruce Oldfield who was one of Diana's favorite designers. He also designed for many other famous customers including Jerry Hall, Barbra Streisand, Catherine Zeta-Jones as well as other leading members of the British and European aristocracy. He was awarded an OBE in 1990 for his services to the fashion industry. In 1993, he decided to provide an exclusively couture service.  I can't date this dress exactly, though it reminds me so much of the famous Diana "Camillagate" dress, that I figure 1992/93 is about right. Unique blue color that can hardly be described with that great huge pearl ornament at side! Tulip hemline and long side scarf.  Wide sexy "V" neckline. Zip AND hooked back and zip cuffs. Very good condition with a few issues, minor pulls upper arm, minor spots that blend in with taffeta on sleeve, cuff, hip, scarf (see photos).  Oh, and a tiny lining waist tear - lining only!  Measures: 36/38" bust, 28" waist, up to 39" hips, 35" long shoulder to hem, 20" long skirt. #5012 - c. 1980's CHRISTIAN DIOR BOUTIQUE Numbered Black Silk and Satin Evening Jacket with Huge Attached Gold and Rhinestone Cross!  I want to keep this sooo badly!  But it's too large for me.  Waaahhh! This came from a huge estate of all designer clothing from the 80s... many bought in Paris.   The black silk and satin empire jacket alone would be enough to excite me, but oooh, then the ornamental gorgeous gold and rhinestone cross with bow!  Even the great gold and rhinestone squar buttons on the sleeves.  Perfection! Excellent condition with just one minor pull on shoulder (see photos) and a slight dust smudge on front (one drycleaning is all that needs). Measures: 37/38" bust, 32" long from shoulder to hem.  Padded shoulders. NEW LISTING!

Hand washable!  Yeah!!   This will be your most favorite dress. It fit me at 33" bust, 26" waist and will fit you as well up to about 38" bust, 30" waist - perhaps a size 10.  I'm showing with crinoline, but looks fine without as well.  There are pockets at the sides (I always like that!)  21" long from waist to hem, which is a bit shorter than other 50s dresses - as it was "for fun in the sun".   Dress is near mint condition.   NEW LISTING!

#6544 - c. late 1930's Multicolored Embroidered Black Silk Evening Bolero!  The most gorgeous bolero jacket EVER!!!  Incredible multicolored embroidery of flowers, birds and cranes, butterflies, etc. The back has slightly less embroidery just like the short sleeves.  The lapels and border trim is just the perfect design feature!  AWESOME!  If you love the look of the 1920's embroidered shawls, but want something much easier to wear, there is nothing better! Amazingly.. this has the original "Made in China" label and, I still can't believe it's not silk, but it says" cotton/linen!!!  Perhaps that's why it's in such incredible condition!! But you will swear it's silk!  I have to date this bolero based on the slightly puffed wide shoulders and often worn fashionable bolero shape worn over the slinky 1930's gowns. Tight across back is going to fit a size 0/2 the best. I have tried it on (I have a sort of small back, but wear a size 4 and it fits, but as I say, better for smaller). Near Mint condition. Measures: 15" long from shoulder to hem, 13.5" across back  NEW LISTING!

#6380 - c. 1960's Saks Fifth Avenue, Attributed as a SOPHIE ORIGINAL Black Silk Chiffon Dress with Cutouts and Bows at Back!  I'm using my professional judgment to attribute this dress to Sophie Gimbel, the mucho expensive in-house designer at Saks.  Why, you ask?  I had another Saks Fifth Avenue gown with matching cardigan sweater which had the Sophie Original label as well. Here's the link to that gown.  I will let you decide if you agree:    http://www.antiquedress.com/item9215.htm Yes?  If so, the dress likely cost around $500 new - in the 60s!!!  It's fabulously different. The dress is a black silk chiffon over a black silk lining.  The "v" bodice and diamond shaped front waist are sheer black chiffon over nude lining!! Sexy babe! The sheer upper back has no nude lining.  The neckline is boatneck and the dress is sleeveless.  The dress is trimmed in black satin "wrap" giving a Grecian feel.  Just fabulous!! Additional little bows snap at the back over metal zipper. Excellent, near Mint condition. Red Carpet ready! Measures: 31" bust, 24/25" waist, 38" long from shoulder to hem, 23" from waist to hem.   NEW LISTING!

One of the best Nolan Miller gowns... ever!  So sexy!!  Including that long front leg slit at front and that fabulous draped beaded low back!! Comes with original beaded belt that I totally forgot to photograph, but I like it without just as well, if not better, so... hey.   Excellent condition with the exception of an area of beading that was re-done with slightly different beads (see photos).  Not all that noticeable unless inspecting... and certainly you can re-bead again if you care.  This is a totally collectable gown from the original Dynasty series - you'll just have to watch the series to find the gown!! #9495a - c. 1960's MOLLIE PARNIS Gown of Blue and Green Floral Print Organdy with Matching Ruffled Shawl and Beaded Belt!  Another gown previously owned by a Dupont family matriarch!  She had hundreds of gowns from the 1960's!  This is one that could have been designed today.   A blue and green huge floral print organdy sleeveless gown with matching ruffled shawl to wear in a variety of ways.  Wear with or without the beaded matching belt! Great for a summer wedding.  Back zipper. Measures: 38" bust, 30" waist (slip is 36" bust, 29" waist), 16" shoulder to waist, 42.5" long from waist to hem. Very good condition as there are a few minor issues... a bit dirty at interior neckline lining and minor wear at neckline (totally blends in with print!). One hardly seen spot on upper bust, and pinholes from brooch at upper breast. The slip is faded at hemline (unseen, of course, under the dress).  All these details are minor, but the gown is VERY well priced accordingly!  NEW LISTING!

#6433 - c. 1980's YVES SAINT LAURENT RIVE GAUCHE, Paris Scottish Highland Black Velvet Jacket and Vest with Rhinestone Buttons!  Wow!  I was lucky enough to win the entire estate of a wealthy woman who loved to shop at the best French design houses in Paris in the 1980s.  I know she bought many pieces in Paris as I have saw some of her receipts. This is the same woman who had some of my best Bob Mackie beaded gowns. I will be putting up these designer suits, jackets, skirts and blouses as possible (I'm only one person!! :)  Let's start with one of my favorite pieces - or should I say "2 pieces".  Black velvet jacket and matching vest in a modified Scottish Highland or Kilt jacket design.  The jacket just closes at top button and is meant to be worn open as you see.  The vest has a black silk back.  Can be worn together or separately... see additional photos. Gorgeous rhinestone and black buttons!! Cotton and Viscose Velvet.  Vest labeled "36".  Measures:  32/33" bust, 28" waist (slightly short), 19" long.   Jacket labeled "34", 25" long.  Not meant to be worn closed (just top buttoned) and fits great over vest.  Seems best for 5'5" or 5'6" for sleeve length (23" long shoulder to cuff outside). Mint condition!  Fairly heavyweight.  Fabulously made, and fully lined.   NEW LISTING!

#6222 - c. 1960's Black Cotton Eyelet Dress! Great look for a little price! The only reason is that it's missing one button (so I could take the time to sew on all new ones, or you can save money and buy it "as is".... and the only other possible issue is the slightly brownish stain (see photos) on the upper bodice that may clean out, and isn't very visible unless inspecting. So you get this great black cotton, fully eyelet, scoop neck summer dress with original belt and fine store (Mary Sachs) label all for $185.  This is one of those dresses to throw on in the summer instead of some crappy jeans.  Get pretty for a change!! Measures: 36" bust, 25-28" waist, 40" long from shoulder to hem.  Has fairly sheer slip attached. Previously owned by a Ruth Hines.  Know her? :)   NEW LISTING!

#6338 - c. 1960's White Cotton Pique Wiggle Dress with Fabulous Red Grape Embroidery! Larger Size!  Going to a summer wine tasting party and want to wear the perfect dress? I have this love of white cotton pique. Can't even tell you why, but I guess it's something in my genes. Anyway, this white pique dress is quite special with what looks to be hand-embroidery around the "v" neckline with cut outs, and on the skirt front and back.  Stunning and sexy. Comes with the original matching sash belt which I show in the other photos. Wear with or without, or with a red belt.  Back metal zipper.  Measures: 40" bust, up to 32" waist, up to 41" hips, 24" long from waist to hem, 40" long from shoulder to hem. Excellent condition.  I think I saw one pinhole near the hemline, but can't find it again on quick review.  Bright white like new.  The belt looks ever so slightly dingier, so perhaps just a quick bleaching of the belt? Hardly an issue.  It's just that the whiteness of the dress is surprisingly great for a vintage dress!!  Unlined cotton, so PERFECT for HOT SUMMER DAYS!  NEW LISTING!

#4893- c. 1990's OWNED and WORN by Whitney Houston Black Stretch Beaded Dress with Sheer Sleeves and Long Fringe Skirt!  Every once in a while I dress up in my own vintage pieces.  Only rarely, as I spend most of my time working on this website!!!  No time to go anyway.  My job is to dress YOU!  However, I was an usher at a local theater production of  "Thoroughly Modern Millie" and needed something perfect to wear to get the audience "in the mood".  I wore this sexy, tight-fitted number with black beading at neckline and hipline, black macrame also at the hipline, and then that great overskirt of long silk fringe originally worn by Whitney Houston! I got a thrill from telling people who wore it before me... as well as from over-heading the ladies in the audience say to each other "look at that great dress".  The fringe moves with you as you shimmy, it shimmies!   It looks better on when you actually have arms! :) Impossible to measure. Totally stretchy!  I had to cuff up the sleeves for my 5'2" body, but worked fine. 41" long from shoulder to hem.  Back zipper. Rhinestone buttons at upper back. Excellent condition. #4743 - c. 1960's SORELLE FONTANA Export, Made in Italy Raw Silk/Linen Wiggle Dress with Jacket! Museum Deaccession!  Quite rare to find a 60's Sorelle Fontana suit!  FYI, according to the Life in Italy website, Sorelle Fontana is Rome's "Prominent and Oldest Fashion House - and is known as Couturiers to the Stars. Their beautiful designs became highly sought-after by Hollywood stars, famous women and the Italian aristocracy. Ava Gardner wore Fontana on and off the set. And Sorelle Fontana even designed for the movies, including dressing the young Audrey Hepburn in "Roman Holiday".  Many others such as Princess Grace Kelly, Jacqueline Kennedy and Elizabeth Taylor wore their designs.  They designed their first ready-to-wear collection in 1960. AND, according to the museum hangtag on this suit, they date it to 1960, and the label indicates "export", so...  I have to assume that this is a wonderful museum example of possibly the first collection of RTW by Sorelle Fontana! Excellent condition.  The exquisite art noveau print dress bodice is the same material lining the boxy jacket!  So beautifully tailored, it could nearly be worn inside out! The tie on the dress can be worn showing the print side out, or solid side, depending on the look you want. Back metal zipper. No skirt slit, so you will wiggle! Measures:  36" bust, 25" waist, up to 35" hips, 20" long jacket.   NEW LISTING!   Also Listed in the Museum Category.

#9915 - c. 1990's STEPHEN YEARICK Beaded Ballgown! Stephen Yearick gowns seem to be a favorite of brides and pagent beauty queens.   I hadn't heard of the label, but certainly knew that this was not an inexpensive dress just from the quality of the fabrics and the elaborate black beaded bodice -with dripping black beads on the 1/2 length sleeves!  Will look great on with the lined molded breast cups!!!  The color of the gown is hardly describable... because it's SEVEN layers of fabric! The top layer is a shimmering silk metallic lame chiffon in a golden tone.  Under that are two layers of voile, one layer of silk in a sienna color, three more layers of net crinoline!  The overall color is .... uh....  I need a crayola crayon box!!!   Measures: 35" bust, 27" waist, 60" long from shoulder to hem.  Excellent condition. #6434 - c. 1964 Multicolored Gathered Silk Crepe Chiffon Short Dress!  I nearly fell over when I saw this dress.  SOOO different!  For all of you who would die for a Jean Desses chiffon draped gown (ok, perhaps that's not a good idea, as if you are dead, you won't be able to appreciate the gown!)... so for those of you still living... this is for you!  WOW!  I just found a photo of the longer version of this dress in December, 1964 VOGUE magazine.  Listed as Nat Kaplan for $185!  That was quite expensive then.  On par with Oleg Cassini.  Multicolored vertical striped silk crepe chiffon totally gathered over bodice and at waist.  The skirt is made up of two layers of the same chiffon... and the dress is lined in, yup, you guess it... the same multicolored stripe silk!  The waistband is sewn in (not a separate belt. You could wear with a bow-tied sash, or a belt if you wish.  The length (which was perfectly shortened from the original length) is either a short dress, or could be considered a long tunic length. So wear with colored tights and high heels, or heck, just enjoy the shortness, perhaps for summer with ballet flats.... whatever works best for you.  Back metal zipper.  Totally unique and wonderful!  Excellent condition.  Measures: 33-35" bust, 25" waist, 21" long from waist to hem. From Saks Fifth Avenue!  Oh lordy!  You know that there are many "Butterfly" balls out there every years..... nearly as many as the inevitable "Black & White" ball.  So it's my job to make sure you are perfectly dressed!  I nearly keeled over when I found this gown!  If you have the body, you can show it off with this gown that covers your entire top so you won't get too chilly, but you are covered only with sheer black tulle - open at the back - except for the huge multi-colored bugle beaded butterfly at front..... strategically positioned to cover only what you need covered!  And the interior has two bust pads to keep you where you need to be.  There is a thin line of black beading at waistline all around.   Measures: 35" bust, up to 27" waist, 61" long from shoulder to hem. #2996 - c. Early 1940's Reddish-Brown Lightweight Crepe Dress with Scattered Sequins and Original Belt!  So hard to find these vintage dresses with the original belts. Usually they were lost over the years.  This dress is a lovely design with high wrapped neckline, 1/2 length sleeves (I always find that flattering for those of use with not all that attractive upper arms! - Longer than short sleeves).  The sequins are fabulous as they are auroaborealis so will shine in a rainbow of colors. Side metal zipper and upper back metal zipper.  Padded shoulders. Unlined. The additional dress photos are slightly lighter and slightly redder than the photo at the left - the many photos are closer in color.  It's still a brown, but not a dull brown.  Excellent condition (belt is limp... big deal! :).  Measures: 33-35" bust, 25-29" waist, up to 37/38" hips (smaller hips are best so it lays best), 42" long from shoulder to hem.  You really want to be slender for this dress, as the back will be too tight otherwise, and the sleeves might be too tight as well. Slightly short-waisted, but the wide belt will cover.  Looks great on!  Nicely fitted! :)

#3970 - c. 1990's NOLAN MILLER COUTURE Ivory Embroidered Open Lace Organdy "Mermaid" Slightly Trained Gown! I bought this gown some years ago from a large Nolan Miller auction.  Many of the pieces I purchased were designed specifically for the New York City Ballet Company  for "Sleeping Beauty", "Swan Lake" and some others.  However, in the midst of this auction came this lot of SEVEN of these Nolan Miller Couture open lace "mermaid" gowns - all matching, FOUR in perfect condition! These are the COUTURE line, NOT what you would find in your local department store. Absolutely gorgeous.  Embroidered openwork lace organdy of bows and flowers skim over the body and then flares out at knee.  Satin band around bustline and bow at back.  Zipper at back.  Most of these gowns also come with matching long gloves (which are very long and tight... so I'm not sure they are wearable unless you have ballet dancer's arms).  Just so you know, I recently saw this same gown sell on a different vintage clothing website for $2,000.   Well worth that, but you luck out and can buy for less. The skirt has 4-layers!!   Excellent condition.   This gown measures: 35" bust, up to 28" waist, up to 38" hips, 45" long from natural waist to hem in front, 52" long from natural waist to hem in back.  This is for a TALL gal!  Certainly can be hemmed up, but tall as is.   Would make a wonderful wedding gown, or just a formal gown.  Add some black trim or a black wrap and long black gloves for a Black & White ball.  NEW LISTING!  Also Listed in the Wedding Section.

#3378 - c. 1950's Shades of Aqua Silk Faille Floral Party Dress with Rhinestone Straps!  I still can't figure out how my mannequin got so sunburned in a few of these photos!  She must be sneaking out to the beach when I'm not watching!  "Girls Gone Wild"!  I just hope she doesn't end up on YouTube in a compromising situation.  Meanwhile, she looks lovely in this 50s party dress with crumb-catcher gathered bodice. You know about "crumb-catchers", yes? It's the term for those bodices with material that is draped in such a way to catch any crumbs you might drop from your toast! :)  Great rhinestone straps catch the light and attract "him".  I have no idea if they are original to the dress... it's possible it was a strapless (as it's boned), so do what you want, but I love the straps!  Back metal zipper.
