# 7599 - c. 1990 SIGNED BY BOB MACKIE AND CHER BOB MACKIE Hot Purplely Pink Suede Jewel Studded Motorcycle Jacket  with Matching Over Knee Boots!  I've been searching for photos of Cher in this outfit, and thanks to a fan.... I now have a photo of Cher showing off this EXACT jacket from her closet during a photo shoot!!!  Also, Cher wears EXACTLY the same jacket in black leather back in 1987 and 1988 for her appearance on David Letterman, and on the front of her Cher album and in promo photo.  In the Letterman photo, you can see that Cher looks to be wearing exactly the same boots (in leather) as well!  This pink version must have been used for an optional photo shoot as the boots hardly look worn.  The fact that Cher signed and dated the jacket to 1990 is quite helpful! :)  The boots are signed on the bottom by Bob Mackie.  These came to me from the gentleman who purchased many Cher pieces direct from Star Wares co-owners Marcia Tysseling and Susie Coehlo (Sonny Bono's 3rd wife - after Cher).  FABULOUS pieces!!  The jacket is a bit small in the hip for my 36" hip dressform so if you want to wear it closed, you'll need 34" hips, but Cher wore lots of these motorcycle jackets.. and often wore them open.  The boots (I adore!) have a over "legging" detail at the shoe (see photos).  I assume they are size 8.5 as that's what size the other shoes I have of Cher's (to go up soon).  There is slight discoloration/fading of the suede on both pieces (you won't care!) and there are two pen marks (see photos - I'm told the one on the boots was caused by a taxi driver), otherwise... well... just REMARKABLE and EXTREMELY COLLECTABLE for both Bob Mackie and Cher collectors!!    Also Listed in the Memorabilia and Cher Categories. FINAL SALE MEMORABILIA ITEM.

# 5074 - c. 1990/1991 BOB MACKIE Black and White Beaded Bodice Bolero and Original Hot Pink Belt!  STOP HERE... OK.. have I got your attention??  I really want you to take a moment to look at this gown with and without the belt, and with and without the beaded bolero.  It will give you a few different looks in one gown!  And if you find additional boleros or jackets, you will have even more choices with one basic and beautiful gown!   Simple black jersey bodice with white silk skirt.  The beaded bodice is silk with white beading in lovely floral design.  White beaded edging and open at the back.  The hot pink belt is very stiff... and can be worn with buckle at front or back... or not worn at all... or find other colored belts or sashes to wear to change the look again!  Excellent condition... only a tiny issue of ghost stitching from shoulder pads that were attached to the gown straps by someone crazy! Wild!  I removed them so you can wear the gown without the bolero.  You will get the shoulder pads and you can put them in the bolero if you wish. Measures: 33/34" bust, 25" waist, 39" long from shoulder to hem.  Labeled size 6, but it's a 4 today.  Has attached slip under skirt. The best investment in a party gown you will ever find... as it's so versatile!

Excellent condition... with a Great EARLY MACKIE Label!  Measures:  up to 34" bust, up to 25" waist, 28" long from waist to hem.  Invest in  the future Bob Mackie museum! :)

# 4885 - c. 1980's BOB MACKIE Couture Gold and White Beaded Slightly Trained Gown! Previously Owned by Whitney Houston!  One of the Holy Grail Mackie pieces!!!  Top couture Bob Mackie gown previously owned by Whitney Houston!! This gown weighs an unbelievable 7 pounds!! This gown was not meant for the general public. This is a couture piece with no lining. So it's sheer, but only slightly as the beads cover most every square inch of the nude net background. The body shows through at certain areas. Measures: 35" bust, up to 26" waist, up to 36" hips, 60" long from shoulder to hem in front, 63" long in back. Excellent condition.  If there are any beads missing, you will have to spend hours searching. Sharon Stone's Mackie beaded gown from "Casino" sold at auction for $13,200.  And the original cost of this piece new would have easily been $15,000+.  These are the Mackies that will end up in museums... not the newer pieces that are just "pretty gowns". Here's your chance to own the best of the best from Hollywood's fashion icon and masterful designer!  I purchased this gown directly from the A.J. Willner 2007 on-site auction in Irvington, New Jersey.  So much of Whitney's clothing, awards, stage sets, etc were auctioned off for her unpaid storage bills.   This was the most beautiful gown (in my view) at that auction.  I was profiled on Inside Edition re:  my collection from that auction.   https://www.insideedition.com/entertainment/3863-designer-outfits-whitney-houston-sold-to-pay-off-debts-now-in-high-demand.   Second change to own!  Previously sold to renown Australian photographer.

# 6780 - c. 1980's BOB MACKIE Electric Blue Beaded Gown on Black Netting! I recently sold this same gown in gold and silver beads on nude netting for $4,275.  This blue beaded gown was sold at the Mackie Boutiques, so it is one step later than the nude gown. Still this is one of those rare early Mackie gowns of couture quality.... meaning fully beaded on mesh with easily removable lining.  These are the Mackies that will end up in museums... not those newer Mackies that are just "pretty gowns".  If you removed the lining, it would be the same see-through dresses that were worn by Cher, Diana Ross and others! With the lining, the body shows through just at strategic areas. Only these very early net Mackie dresses (and costumes) were priced at this level. There were many Mackie mass-produced dresses that were produced later, and often people don't know the difference. Excellent condition.  Marked size 6.  There are a very few beads missing, you will have to spend time searching.  Here's your chance to own the best of the best from Hollywood's fashion icon and masterful designer!  Electric blue color will "wow" as you walk through the door.  Surprising amount of stretch in this gown, so Measures:  32-36" bust, 24-28" waist, 34-39" hips, 60" long from shoulder to hem! The sleeves are long with zippers, so they scrunch, unless your arms are extremely long. Shoulder pads aren't overwhelming.  Hollywood glamour from the master!

# 7921 - c. 1980's BOB MACKIE Gold, Copper, Silver Lame Metallic and Velvet Slightly Trained Evening Coat!  Oh my! Oh my!  I love Bob Mackie.  I love gold/silver lame! I love velvet!  I love opulence! I love the shape of Audrey Hepburn's Givenchy gown in the movie Sabrina (in the tennis courts).  So..... if you take ALL those elements together and put them into one piece... you get this jaw dropping evening coat (which could be worn as a dress if you want!), or worn over a simple sleeveless gown or dress.  This piece was sold at Saks Fifth Avenue (high-end department store) and has that label as well.  The lame fabric is gold, silver and copper, so whatever you wear it with will work.   I know it's hard to see the shape of the "skirt", but it's flat in front and gathered at the sides and back.  Wonderful princess Sabrina shape.  Black velvet at collar and cuffs.  Measures: 32-35" bust, up to 28" waist, 60" long from shoulder to hem in front, 66" long in back.  The sleeves are tight and the back is narrow, so.... you want to be small boned.  Also Listed in the 1930-Today and Furs, etc. Categories.

# 6886 - c. 1980's BOB MACKIE Boutique / Neiman Marcus Gold and Silver Beaded Fringe Asymmetrical Dress!  Probably from the same year as the short beaded fringe short Bob Mackie dress I also have for sale in the Museum section.  That dress has the original Saks Fifth Avenue $7,000 price tag!   This dress gets a lower price on my website since I was able to buy it at a better price, so I pass that on to you... you lucky girls!! Pink, gold and clear rhinestones with gold, silver and white bugle beads, and gold clear and pink clear sequins all on a nude color silk base. Even the nude lining has a "cut" hemline!  Awesome!  Zippered sleeves.  Back zip.  Padded shoulders.  Excellent condition. Measures:  35" bust, up to 28" waist, up to 38" hips, 34" - 54" long from shoulder to asymmetrical beaded hemline. One of the better Mackie dresses! Labeled size 4, but fits the size 6 mannequin as you see... and fits me at my size 6 body.

# 5073 - c. 1991 (?) BOB MACKIE Beaded Bodice Ballgown! Same Exact Gown Worn to the Oscars by Debbie Allen - we believe in 1991 or 1992 (still seeking photos of her in this gown, but confirmed she wore it by Bob Mackie's company!). This gown was Never Worn!  OK, it's not one of those slinky sexy nearly nude Mackie "Cher" gowns... but it's still one of the early Mackie gowns (as the bodice is still fully beaded on netting) and frankly one of the few early ballgowns I've seen!  And what a unique material on that skirt!!!  Wonderfully changeable taffeta of gold, green, pink and lavender with surprising, nearly phantom triangle designs that complement the sunburst designs of the bodice! Or if you prefer... rather than sunburst, these could also be mechanical gears.. great for charity balls with themes that will work with this bodice design! :)  Back zip.  Has lots of petticoat attached under to give the skirt its shape! Measures: 32/33" bust, up to 26.5" waist, 13.5" neck, 57" long from shoulder to hem (great for 5'2" with 3" heels) or 5'5" with flats to just sweep the ground.  Love the pocket in the skirt!  Totally unexpected, but great to have!  Mint condition, never worn!!  The only thing to mention is that it has very tight arms and tight under the arms, so you will want to be thin, small boned for this, but it will NOT overwhelm!Cost over $7,000 new!  Never Worn, so as new!! MINT condition!

# 11067 - c. 1970's RARE BOB MACKIE and RAY AGHAYAN "Elizabeth the First"  Red Jersey Gown Trimmed in Black Velvet!  In 1969, Bob Mackie with partners Ray Aghayan and Elizabeth Courtney established their Beverly Hills boutique, Elizabeth the First, which in turn spawned the short-lived wholesale firm Ray Aghayan/Bob Mackie.  Of course Elizabeth Courtney has been a made-to-order costume company for decades... and a sister shop, EC2 still exists as a costume-rental facility.   A RARE Bob Mackie gown!   Red Jersey with black velvet trim. Used a few times for Cher... originally without the velvet trim, and then re-used for Halloween show with the trim!  Incredibly long sleeves are meant to be worn full, and the neckline is quite low when worn by someone other than a hardbusted mannequin! :)   Excellent condition, except for needing a cleaning (you can see the marks at the hemline, and there are some small marks here and there on the gown... nothing glaring.  A bit of a hanger shoulder as well.  Will stretch from 30" bust, 25" waist, 34" hips to  36" bust, up to 30" waist, up to 40" hips, 58" long from shoulder to hem.  AB-JPC-PC-2013 CollectionAlso Listed in the Cher and Memorabilia Categories.

Excellent condition with just a few minor beads missing (see photo).  Love the square neckline  And check out the close up photos to see the fabulous beading/rhinestone design in the bodice and upper sleeves.  Back zipper.  More measurements coming!     Also listed in the 1930-Today and Memorabilia Categories.

# 5197 - c. 1980's BOB MACKIE Nude Net Gown of Sequins and Beads!  As Seen on Joan Van Ark in Knot's Landing Promotion Photo!  OK... if you're a fan of my website, you know I love these early Bob Mackie gowns... you know the ones that were designed for the mass market by just taking the original nude net "Cher" Mackie gowns, and adding a nude lining.  Mr. Mackie then branched out into beads and sequins on silk, but it's these early net gowns that are the best!  This one is of a rare design I hadn't seen before... and then someone sent me the photo of Joan Van Ark in this gown!  Looks great on!!  Pinkish hue with the extra large pink flower sequined on to one shoulder and then bits of that flower elsewhere scattered about the gown.  As you can see, the gown has the illusion of a nude bodice (yet it's lined), however the upper back remains net only.  There is a very long slit up the front of the gown for mega leg reveal!  Excellent condition... however, this gown has been modified under the arms for extra size in the bust, so it now Measures: up to 40" bust, up to 30" waist, up to 40" hips, 58" long from shoulder to hem. Look at all the closeup photos to see all the details! Zippered cuffs, back zip gown to waist and just the extended back hook/eye at upper back.  If you don't need the extra sizing, you can just remove the extended closure strap. Priced lower than it might have been for the modified underarms, but for those of you who are thrilled with the extra bust measurement, well... you luck out!

# 6702 - c. 1970's BOB MACKIE / RAY AGHAYAN Bronze Leopard Print Lame Halter Gown with Matching Bolero Jacket Trimmed in Fabulous Fantasy Feathers at Neckline and Cuffs! Here's some history for you. In 1963, Ray Aghayan selected Bob Mackie as his assistant on "The Judy Garland Show" for CBS. In 1969, they established a Beverly Hills boutique, Elizabeth the First (with Elizabeth Courtney) which in turn spawned the short-lived wholesale first Ray Aghayan/Bob Mackie.  So... This gown and jacket is an extremely early Mackie!!  Wow... Gold lame and silk in a leopard print.  Empire waist halter gown.  Stunning and sexy, but simple, right?  So for that Hollywood entrance, you needed something a bit more dramatic... hence the matching blouson bolero jacket trimmed in huge spotted brown and tan fantasy feathers!!!  Measures: 36/37" bust, 30" waist , up to 39" hips, 32" waist of jacket, 60" long gown from shoulder to hem.  Near mint condition... you will just need to re-tack the cuff of feathers onto one cuff.  An modern historic Hollywood early Bob Mackie piece!

# 6786A - RARE c. early 1980's BOB MACKIE Black Silk Beaded "Mouse" Gown!  WHAT???  I have no clue what the history is of this design!  I'm still hoping Mr. Mackie contacts me to explain! :)  I have, however, found a fully beaded Mackie gown obviously from the same collection... but WHY the MOUSE???   Was it a special runway piece? Obviously whimsical! And this particular Mackie label is one of the OLD ones... from the early 1980's.  This is the same block letter with chevron Mackie label that was in the $25,000 Mackie Gown worn by Cher to the Oscars in 1982!!  Now granted... this gown is not THAT gown, but it's from the same era. Anyway.... this is a  either an extremely black navy blue, or a bluish black silk gown with bugle bead design to create that wacky mouse (I assume it's a mouse and not a cat... but you decide).  Simple shape with short kimono sleeves, boat neckline. Measurements:  up to 42" bust, up to 42" hips, 52" long from shoulder to hem. Labeled size 8 so meant to be worn large.  Excellent condition.

# 11359 - c. 1990's BOB MACKIE, Neiman Marcus Black Textured Silk Strapless Dress with Rhinestone Trim, with Matching Black Textured Tailored Dress Coat with Huge Sparkling Rhinestone Buttons!  Worn by Fran Drescher on "The Nanny" on Season 6, Episodes 16, 17 and 21!  If you loved The Nanny as much as I did (and still do!), you might be able to find this dress/coat on the show before I do (I'm fast forwarding through the episodes, but there are 6 years of shows, so.....)  This outfit, and all the other Fran Drescher pieces, came to me directly from Ms. Drescher and it was listed as "worn on The Nanny", and luckily I  finally found it!  Worn closed in three episodes (flashbacks and a two-parter).  I LOVE Bob Mackie, and nearly fell over when I saw the shape and tailoring on the back of this coat.  It's achingly perfect (at least in my eye!).  And then huge rhinestone buttons are dazzlingly brilliant.  In Excellent condition.   Incredibly, it still has the original price tag on the dress from the 1990's!  $3,500!!!!  Seems to be just for the dress!  I would certainly assume that would make the coat cost $5,000. which together equals over $14,000 in today's money!!  Fran's people left a few original store tags on her clothing.  WHY?  Don't know, but there were others as well.   BEAUTIFULLY MADE!  The dress has TWO zippers up the back (as usually only the best pieces do!) and has a boned bodice.  Coat measures:  up to 34" bust (tight, and you need narrow back), up to 27" waist on coat.  Dress:  up to 32" bust, up to 25" waist, up to 40" hips, 18" from waist to hem.  Both pieces are fully silk lined.   NEW LISTING!  Also Listed in the Memorabilia Category.  Final Sale Movie/Memorabilia piece. NOTE: All Fran Drescher's proceeds will go to her charity Cancer Schmancer.

#5744 - c. 1980's BOB MACKIE Pink Fully Beaded Dress!  Yup... I find the best of the best Bob Mackie dresses!!!  I know there are many Bob Mackie dresses out there that pale in comparison.  It's all a matter of finding the most elaborate pieces.  This one sets my heart aflutter.  The fact that it's pink doesn't hurt (LOVE pink!  I'm such a girly-girl!!). If you've seen the most recent awards shows, you will see that long sleeves and higher necks are back in vogue (thank you Angelina Jolie and Anne Hathaway!), and they got rave reviews for their looks! And... this one was never worn!  Still has the original hang tag.  This is not one of the very early Mackie's on netting, but still fantastic.. of the design you might have expected form one of the netted dresses.  Check out that "v" hemline, short in the front and long in the back with clear beaded fringe all around the scalloped hemline.  Yup, fantastic!  Pink, silver, white, and coral beads and sequins create the rest of the deco and floral design.  The photos will explain all the rest.  Measures: up to 36" bust, up to 29" waist, up to 37" hips. 35"-55" long from shoulder to hem.  Back zipper.
