#7548 - EXTREMELY RARE c. mid 1970's SONNY and CHER's Matching Original Publicity Gown and Suit by by BOB MACKIE and RET TURNER! I still can't believe I got this!!! ME! Little Debby Miller from Long Island! The little girl who used to just sit in her room and play with her Beatle dolls.. and who used to watch the Sonny & Cher TV show with her parents... totally smitten by their charisma and incredible wardrobe! And now, these pieces are mine.. at least for now. At auction, this duo could fetch twice this price. Not only the awesome nearly nude Cher gown by Bob Mackie, but the matching original gold beaded satin suit and shirt worn by Sonny!! The only thing missing is the vest, the shoes and Sonny's mustache!! :) I'll be taking photos of the pieces soon, but wanted to give you all the "heads up" that something this fabulous is available! The suit is labeled "Sonny Bono" and the shirt also has a September 1975 label. Note: the shirt even has a "bodysuit" to keep it nicely tucked in! The gown has no labels as there is no place to put a label... it's quite sheer and anything would show through. The gown is very lightweight. Gorgeous. A glamour couple in golden glamour duds. # 11067 - c. 1970's RARE BOB MACKIE and RAY AGHAYAN "Elizabeth the First" Red Jersey Gown Trimmed in Black Velvet! In 1969, Bob Mackie with partners Ray Aghayan and Elizabeth Courtney established their Beverly Hills boutique, Elizabeth the First, which in turn spawned the short-lived wholesale firm Ray Aghayan/Bob Mackie. Of course Elizabeth Courtney has been a made-to-order costume company for decades... and a sister shop, EC2 still exists as a costume-rental facility. NOW... NOTE: This gown, I was told by the owner, was made for CHER, but I can't confirm that with any paperwork or photos of Cher in this gown.... however this was from the same person who had SO many of the other Cher pieces you see on this website that DO have photos and/or signatures confirming the connection with Cher. So... it's likely true... I just can't guarantee. Whatever, you get a RARE Bob Mackie gown! Red Jersey with black velvet trim. Incredibly long sleeves are meant to be worn full, and the neckline is quite low when worn by someone other than a hardbusted mannequin! :) Excellent condition, except for needing a cleaning (you can see the marks at the hemline, and there are some small marks here and there on the gown... nothing glaring. A bit of a hanger shoulder as well. Will stretch from 30" bust, 25" waist, 34" hips to 36" bust, up to 30" waist, up to 40" hips, 58" long from shoulder to hem. There is nothing special the simple drawstring silk velvet pants, except for the duo who created them (Ret Turner designed all Sonny's suits)! The bustier is quite nice! "Rum Jungle, London" label made of a velveteen, zips up the front, a bit of elastic at back, nice tailoring detailing especially with the little bow at back!!! Marked size 12. HA! This is a 4/6 today with 34" bust. Excellent condition with the exception of one silver bead missing (see photo). #7201 - c. 1990's CHER's Jeweled ETRO, Milano Light Oatmeal Colored Wool Coat! Oh my word! Now I still haven't found any photos of Cher in this coat, but it's going up anyway and I will keep looking. I prefer to sell memorabilia pieces with absolute provenance, but every once in a while the vintage piece is special enough even without it... and this coat was sold as Cher's through the prestigious Julien's Auctions along with many other Cher and Marilyn Monroe pieces. I haven't seen another Etro coat like this! It's not meant for warmth, but for beauty even though it's wool. Check out the close up photos to see the detail!! Condition you ask? Excellent, though perhaps a bit (and I mean a bit!) dingy, or this is the color it was meant to be?? Hard to know for sure. It's less ivory and more a light oatmeal color. Love the interior wild colors!! Measures: up to 34" bust, up to 32" waist, up to 36" hips, 35" long from shoulder to hem. You can see how it's fitting the size 6 mannequin of 35/25/36... it's great if you don't wear anything under (or wear lightweight clothing under), otherwise it's gonna bit a bit tight as the back is slightly smallish. Even without the Cher provenance, this is the price you would pay for a coat like this!! An new Etro Embellished silk coat is currently listed for $5,060... not nearly as fabulous as this! #7191 - c. 2010 CHER's One-of-a-Kind Black Velvet Gown Designed by BOB MACKIE Worn to the 2010 Golden Globe Awards! Comes with HANDWRITTEN NOTE on CHER'S PERSONAL NOTE CARD as COA! Exquisite and unbelievably special gown designed specifically for Cher by the iconic Bob Mackie to wear at the Golden Globe Awards. Cher says this is "one of her favorites"! Think Morticia Addams! It is a full length black velvet evening gown with blush silk open illusion panel at chest with black lace overlay accented with jet crystals. The front is designed to simulate a laced corset and is accented with jet stone buttons surrounded by rhinestones. This long sleeve full length gown terminates in a short train. Cher wore this gown as she walked the red carpet and appeared on stage with Christina Aguilera at the 67th annual Golden Globe awards held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills California on January 17, 2010. Cher wore a yellow, red and blue ribbon signifying support for the people of Haiti to the Golden Globes and this pin is still attached to the dress. Cher and Aguilera presented the award for Best Original song to Ryan Bingham for his work on Crazy Heart. In addition to the gown, Cher has included a special handwritten note, on her personal note card, to insure the authenticity of the gown. Note: Another black outfit (the "Rock & Roll" Mackie costume... with very little material!) from the Cher auction in 2006 sold for $60,000! #7553 - c. 1992 RITMO di PERLA, Made in Italy Body Hugging Dress with Petal Appliques on Bust and Sheer Net Overlay, Worn by CHER! I This dress came to me from the same person as most of the Cher pieces you will see available on this website. He had a huge collection, and made all the right connections in the 1990s to acquire these pieces! This dress was worn by Cher for a publicity shoot in 1992 and was used in a few publications. One of the is "Cher Exposed" magazine from Winter 2000 which is a tribute to Cher's life, with loads of great photos from her childhood on. This dress can be see on page 19. NOTE: the dress appears to be more yellow in the photos, but they were photoshopped... as you can see from the photos, the lighting was quite bright and this dress can easily be photoshopped to a lighter yellow with ease. But it IS the same dress Cher wore. Guaranteed. The dress is in Excellent condition... has an internal bra, and is extremely tight (bandage) like a Herve Leger fit! The mannequin is a size 2 and she was squeezed into it! But it will fit up to a size 2/4... just helps if you have a body a bit softer than my mannequin! The straps can be twisted to look thinner (as worn by Cher), or untwisted to look wider. The only difference you'll see in the photos is there is one petal on the right breast that was more tucked in when Cher wore it. It tucks right in... I just didn't spot that until now, or I would have photographed it exactly the same as worn. Will come with the magazine and a COA from Antiquedress.com. Also Listed in the Memorabilia Category.

#7547 - c. 1970's CHER's Black Panne Velvet Dress with Plunging Neckline of Netting and Rhinestones by BOB MACKIE / ELIZABETH COURTNEY Along with Black Feather Boa and Original Rhinestoned Sandals! I'm still searching for photos of Cher in this dress, but this came to me from a very reputable source, along with other Cher and "Sonny and Cher" worn items - some WITH photos of her in them! This is a panne velvet dress with a plunging neckline and backline(!) of black netting studded with brilliant large rhinestones. Very tight around the hemline so there's a major slit up the back. The sleeves are all netting and very long so they "pool" at the bottom (may need a snap on each). The black feather boa (I'm told) may have been sewn around the hemline to create a feather bottom dress, though I can't confirm that. The shoes are from Fredricks of Hollywood and were custom rhinestoned to match the dress by Ret Turner (Sonny's costumer on the Sonny and Cher show). The shoes have "EC2" written at the bottom which is Elizabeth Courtney. EC2 is their rental arm. Bob Mackie was partners with both Elizabeth Courtney and Ray Aghayan. Click on the photo at left to see a photo of Cher wearing a identically designed rhinestone on netting garment. Obviously she couldn't have worn THAT on on her 1970s TV shows! :) Yikes!!

#6656 - c. 1983 BOB MACKIE Gown Worn by CHER at the 1983 Academy Awards - for her Nomination for Best Supporting Actress in "Silkwood"! Previously sold at CHRISTIE'S AUCTION HOUSE! The ULTIMATE in COLLECTABLES! An original Bob Mackie design, dramatic sheer beaded nude-colored evening dress constructed on a sheer mesh foundation embellished overall in crystal clear bugle beading. The plunging halter neckline and sides are further decorated with draped strands of bugle beads and silver diamantes. Comes with matching taffeta and beaded stole (33" x 46"). The gown weighs in at 4 pounds. Sold at Christie's 1999 "Unforgettable: Fashions of the Oscars" auction for $27,600. And that's 1999 pricing!! It was Lot #5. The photo in the auction catalog is different from the dress they actually sold (which is the dress you see here). If you go on the Christie's website, you will see the special "Saleroom Notice" which says: "The dress being sold is not the dress illustrated in the catalogue. Cher has donated this Bob Mackie dress which she wore to the 1983 Academy Awards when she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress, Silkwood". Fabulous investment!! Note: Elizabeth Taylor's dress from the same Oscars sale sold for $167,000!!!! And another black outfit from the Cher auction sold for $60,000! Fully beaded onto nude netting, and lined in the right places. Great open back! Rhinestones on sheer areas and straps. Measures 34" bust, 25" waist, up to 35" hips, 60" long from shoulder to hem. Nearly Near Mint condition... there are a few areas of beads missing, but this is an easy fix for a seamstress (and there are a few beads you can "steal" from under hemline... or if you hem up, there are more, but these are clear glass bugle beads that you can get most anyplace)... and there is netting pull at seam at one small place at front (again, easy fix). The only issue at all that can't be made perfect is one small area on front where the netting is stressed a bit (see photos)... only seen on close inspection. The gown comes with the shawl with beaded edging and long beaded tassels. Minor tear and stain on shawl (not on dress) with missing beads on tassels (again easy fix!).
