#4340 - c. Spring 1966 Collection CHRISTIAN DIOR, PARIS Couture and Numbered Dress Owned by BARBRA STREISAND! Yup... Barbra Streisand loves vintage clothing! And this dress was purchased from her recent auction. Amazingly... I have the VOGUE magazine from March 15, 1966 with Barbra on the cover. The article?? "Barbra Streisand at the Paris Collections"! SO.. not only was this dress Barbra's... but we have strong proof (since the dates match perfectly)... that she bought the dress in 1966 during her photo shoot for Vogue!!!! So it's been in her collection since then. Imagine all the times she admired this dress... and now you can own it! Black stiff lace babydoll style with scalloped neckline, short sleeves and hemline. The entire two-tied lace skirt is finely knife-pleated. Black satin ribbon and bow at the slight empire waist. And, as you can see... sheer yoke and sleeves. Metal zipper at back. Excellent condition in everything but the fact that Barbra did not store the dress properly (amazingly!!!) and there is some mildew on the lining and satin ribbon. "Bad Barbra"!! Still with a bit of cleaning, it's nearly perfect! And a COUTURE dress with AMAZING history and PROVENANCE! Measures: 34" bust, 28" underbust, up to 38" hips, 37" long from shoulder to hem. Also Listed in the Museum Section and Memorabilia Section.

#4359 - c. 1930's Black Silk Velvet Gown with Bolero! Wow! Sexy black velvet bias cut evening gown with bolero jacket with ruffled short puffed sleeves which stripe black to white. Dress has black chiffon on top part of bodice which bolero covers when worn with it. The shoulder straps have been extended at the back with black elastic, which I will leave, but this allows for a longer waist and larger bustline. It's a quick change to take that out, if desired. Size you ask??? Well... since it's bias, it will stretch to fit a variety of bodies.. So.. if you are interested in this dress, please just email me your measurements (no cheating... get out the tape measure!) and I will let you know how it will work on you. Length about 57 inches, but will change depending on your size. Excellent condition. There is no closure at the front bolero... I just used a rhinestone bow pin (but it doesn't come with the dress).

#4281 - c. 1970 ABE SCHRADER Black Jacquard Heavy Woven Cotton Dress! This is one of those dresses that the "secretary" would wear... you know, perhaps in an old James Bond movie.. .the secretary has her hair piled up in a bun and heavy black glasses. He takes one look at her and suggests she "take down her hair". She hesitantly pulls out one hairpin and her long shiny wavy locks fall down around her shoulders, and he then reaches over and takes off her glasses. "My god, Miss (blank)... you are beautiful!".. Yup, I keep waiting for James Bond to do this to me! But perhaps it hasn't happened yet because I don't have the right dress for the occasion. So put on this dress and wait for him! Black heavy woven cotton jacquard with just the right touches. Rhinestone button ornaments, original belt (slightly empire), inverted pleat front, pointed collar, and then that "just sexy enough" slot down the front pointing to the right spot! Back metal zipper. Measures: 36/37" bust, 35-37" waist, up to 41" hips, 37" long from shoulder to hem. Near mint condition.

#3744 - c. 1980's GALANOS Couture $4,000 Beaded Cocktail Dress! Possibly never worn. This dress is a work of art! Originally sold at the prestigious Martha's Boutique. I'm told this was originally sold for $4,000! I can't guarantee, or confirm that, but I would certainly not be surprised. Amazing quality dress with very special 3-dimensional beading! Please look at the close-up photos to see the extraordinary detail.. This is not a gaudy or flashy dress, it was designed for elegance... with unique zebra-striped sequins, tiny light colored wooden beads, antique gold beads, gold sequins. Lined in the softest silk. Padded shoulders. The entire dress looks hand-sewn, including the attachment of the lining. Museum quality. Excellent condition except for small areas that look as though there may be some beads missing, but it looks like the other areas of the dress where the muslin peeks through the beading for detail and effect, so it's hard to even spot.. and a restitching of the seam at the back (ass) necessary. Can't say I like my choice of necklace with this dress... I'm sure you can do better! How about amber? Or, heck, canary yellow diamonds? Measures: 34/35" bust, up to 31" waist, up to 38" hips, 37" long from shoulder to hem.

An extremely light-weight dress of sheer black chiffon with every inch covered with large hologram sequins! One shoulder design, side zipper, sheer chiffon slip under. #3997 - c. 1950's Deep Rose/Claret Heavy Satin Smoking Jacket! Practically one size fits all! Made in China. I was told this was worn by Miss California during the Miss America pagent. It DOES look incredibly cute on, but seems a wacky story. Who knows! Might be true! :) Nice quality! Get out the slippers and black satin pants! Lounge in luxury. This was likely a man's smoking jacket, but equally terrific for a woman. And because it's just a wrap style, will fit nearly everyone... the only important measurement is 18" across back between armseams - so measure your favorite jacket in your closet, and see if this will fit you! It can easily be worn large. Shown on a size 6 mannequin, she looks comfy, don't you think? Oh damn.... I just tried this on myself, and I look damn good in it as well! I should never try anything on, as I wonder if I should just keep it. Luckily the arms are way too long for me ( at 5'2") so I would need to tailor it, so.... it's staying up on the website while I try to grow longer arms! :) The jacket is claret red with a gold circular brocade design. It has black satin lining, lapel, and cuffs. (The belt doesn't come with it... just get a black satin ribbon!) Front pockets with black border. Measures: 18" across back between armseams 32" long from back neck to hem, 30.5" long sleeve from crick of side neck to end of cuff (have to measure this way as if you are small - as you can see, the shoulder seam will not be at your shoulder). Excellent condition with just some very light scuff marks on satin and extremely minor pulls. I'm being extremely picky!!! Labeled size 44. Would make a great gift! Could even be used by a woman as an outerwear jacket because it will be big enough to fit a sweater underneath.

#9177 - c. 1980's ADRIAN-AVERY Exquisite Fully Sequined and Beaded Evening Jacket! Zowie. I know that you just want to wear the black pants you wear "day in and day out" to the party, but you are supposed to dress up (so the invitation says). But the thought of putting on the pantyhose and skirt just turns your stomach. Why, oh why can't you just be comfortable and still look smashing? Well, my dear, I have the answer to you. As gorgeous as a stained glass window. The other women will die with envy! "Where DID you get that fabulous jacket?" they will ask. You can just smile and tell them it's one of a kind! Closes up the front with hooks and eyes. Slightly padded shoulders can be removed. Excellent condition. Lightweight since it's mostly sequins rather than beads. Don't hestitate. You will regret it when you are looking into your closet for the right thing to wear to the next bash! Measures: up to 44" bust, 24" long from back of collar to hem. I've pulled it in at the waist as it was WAY too large for my mannequin. It's a straighter style, but will fit a curvy body with a bit of shape.

#3862 - c. 1980's PAULINE TRIGERE Navy and White Polkadot Cotton Voile Dress with Solid Slip! Every time I see a large polkadot dress, I think back to the brown polkaddot dress worn by Julia Roberts in "Pretty Woman" during the polo scene. So go to the races in this! Grab a huge navy straw hat and be the center of attention! Well-made Trigere, as usual. Comes with the navy silk underslip. Back zipper, shoulder pads. The simple satin ribbon waistband with flower is not included, just something I added. Measures: 36" bust, 28" waist, 25" long from waist to hem. Slip measures: 39" bust, 31" waist, up 4o 41" hips giving plenty of room to move. The Trigere label is on the slip, not on the dress, but I'm sure they are a match.

#3704 - c. 1950's ARNOLD SCAASI Red Silk Ballgown! After apprenticing at the house of Paquin in Paris, and working with Charles James in New York for over two years, Arnold Issacs turned his last name backwards and began designing his own clothing under the name of Arnold Scaasi. Scaasi's early forte was evening clothes, which cost around $495 for a dress. Both bold and lavish, evening dresses were made with dramatic, sweeping skirts and decorative tabletop necklines. Rarely were any of this clothes trimmed, relying instead on cut and fabric for decoration, a written in New York Fashion. This is not a Scaasi Boutique dress, the label is the original Arnold Scaasi. Striking red silk suitable for a princess yet with the sexy off the shoulder neckline leaving lots of empty skin for your Harry Winston ruby and diamond necklace. Huge balloon sleeves leave enough arm to show off the matching bracelet. Back metal zipper helps date this gown to the 50's rather than the 80's. Measures: 32" bust, 24" waist, 41" long from natural waist to hem.
