If I wrote down all the most glamorous stars who have been wearing Loris Azzaro on the Red Carpet these days, there would be no room for me to write anything else about this gown! A favorite since the 1970's, but especially lately, everybody who is anybody is wearing "Loris Azzaro". Nicole Kidman even wore a vintage Loris Azzaro gown for the New York Premier of "Moulin Rouge". And more recently, Terri Hatcher wore Azzaro for the SAG awards. So... you can be somebody too! And in this gown, your friends WILL be asking "who you are wearing"! Museum quality. Fabulous Design! Made of a unique Azzaro signature changeable taffeta fabric. Simple sheathe gown but with an intriguing crumb-catcher bodice and then .. oh my... the "pleated" overskirt peplum which is much lower in back. The gown comes with matching ruffle-edged shawl for even MORE drama! Excellent condition. Measures: 37/38" bust, 29/30" waist, up to 37/38" hips, 41" long from waist to hem. There is no give to the gown, so these are the maximum measurements! Has internal bra and boning for support. Looks incredible on!! Approx. - Size 8/10

In the 1955, Luis Estevez jointed Grenelle, Ltd. and the next year, at age 24, was the youngest designer to win the coveted Coty award. When he left to pursue his own label, the Grenelle Roberts label was formed. Smashingly designed dress! Black silk chiffon multi-layered full skirt flutters in the breeze (think Marilyn!). The wide fitted crepe waistband bring the eye to the unique bustline with "wings". Totally unexpected will have all the right people looking at your bust! :) If you are small enough for this dress... lucky you! Measures: 30" bust, 23" waist, 25" underbust, up to 36" hips, 28" long from waist to hem. Back metal zipper. Excellent condition. Approx. - SIZE 0

Click on image for additional photos!#4966 - c. 2000's KATE SPADE, New York Embroidered Metallic Linen Two-Tiered Wrap Skirt! I'm obviously out of the loop as I didn't even know that Kate Spade had an apparel line (I found this skirt in a resale shop), I just know her accessories. But her apparel pieces seem to be fairly rare, as even on the kate spade website, there are only a hand- full of apparel pieces for sale! So what's up? This is obviously a great skirt, so perhaps she just needs my help to get her apparel business up and running? :) This is a true wrap skirt so it will fit most of you. It's a wonderful brushed golden color of a fairly shiny metallic 100% linen with large black embroidered design of flowers, vines, and three different animals. Due to the black linen underskirt that peeks out the bottom, the embroidery evoke the look of silhouettes or cutouts. Near Mint condition. 24" long. Approx. - SIZE 10

Click on image for additional photos!#3755 - c. 1950's LEE FEREBEE Owned Satin Dress with Lace Overdress! Unfortunately I have no COA other than the original promo advertising sign that came with the dress, along with the verbal history. But why would anyone make this up? I would have chosen someone a heck of a lot more famous to attribute to this dress! :) For those of you who never heard of Lee Ferebee (including me!), she was a 1930's-1960's songwriter and recording artist for Big Wheel Records and Decca Records. Her songs were sung by herself and others, including Johnny Cash on his 1962 album "Hymns from the Heart" singing her "Taller Than Trees". This may have been a stage outfit, but whose to know. Very busty shape! She must have had a va-va-voom figure! Dark platinum colored satin dress with rhinestone shoulder straps (currently un-attached to the satin spaghetti straps - just need tacking back on if you want them) and gathered bust. The 3/4 length overdress is all matching lace with trimmed in the same satin. Back metal zipper. Good condition with a few issues and one glaring exception. There is a water or grease stain on the left thigh that is mostly hidden by the overdress, but it's certainly there. I've not tried to clean. Get creative to cover if need be. Otherwise, there is another similar but much lighter spot on the bust, a pull of the seam (easy fix) under zipper, and some leg lace breaks at upper back. Hemmed up a bit, and straps taken up a smidge. Measures: 38" bust, 26" waist, up to 38" hips. Price reflects issues. If you just want a "look" and don't need perfection, it's beautiful. NEW LISTING! Approx. - SIZE 4 very busty

For those of you who love perfect simplicity with sex appeal... sort of a combination of a 1950s great fitted bodice and a 1970s draped long skirt. The only detailing is a bit of interesting shape at end of straps. Quite fabulous on! Back zipper. Acetate lined. Measures: 33" bust, 25" waist, 39" long from waist to hem. Excellent condition with just a few very minor pulls. Approx. - SIZE 4/6

Click on image for additional photos!#4727 - c. 1965 SAMUEL WINSTON by Roxane Red and White Checked Mod Dress with Matching Jacket! Samuel Winston by Roxane was a fairly expensive line. And you can tell, as the tailoring of the designs are terrific. This particular outfit was from a museum collection, and was designed exclusively for Neusteters department store. This fabric of this outfit is very hard to explain... It's a man-made fabric of some kind, not sure what... but if feels almost like a heavy raincoat material. So what is that??? A blend of nylon and polyester? Whatever it is, it was "state of the art" from the mod 1960's. Simple A-line shape sleeveless dress with that great empire attached belt with large white plastic decorative squares. Back metal zipper. Comes with the matching short boxy jacket with white buttons, decorative only pocket flaps. Measures: 35" bust, up to 32" waist, 36/37" hips, 40" long dress from shoulder to hem, 19" long jacket from back neck to hem. Excellent condition, near mint condition with just the slightest dirt at the neckline of the dress. Note: the dress has fairly high underarms, so no large upperarms. Comes with the museum tags... with original owner's name. Approx. - Size 6/8

You don't need to wait for an evening event to wear this coat... as long as you don't mind being the best dressed woman around! Especially great for those of you who live in Northern walking cities where outerwear is the most important fashion garment. Heads will turn. You'll be stopped on the street by a fashion magazine photographer who will want your permission to profile you in the next issue. You will be discovered by an agent, and asked to audition for television shows, and you'll be cast as the next "Desperate Housewife". You'll win an Emmy. Then go on to be the first woman to gross $25 million per film. And finally the Oscar and a star on the walk of fame. All that from one coat!!!! :) I can't promise all this.. all I can promise is that you will love your glamorous new coat. A boucle wool, full length with great sweep, wide 40's shoulders, shawl collar and gold metallic braiding with beads and pearls which wraps around from front to back waist.. and even under the collar so you can wear it up in Cossack style. Fully lined in rich gold satin. Measures: 36-38" bust, up to 32" waist, 58" long from shoulder to hem, 15" across back between armseams, 18" across shoulders. Excellent condition! Near mint! Closes only with two hooks at waist. You can move them a bit if necessary. Approx. - Size approx. 6/8, perhaps 10

Click on image for additional photos!#9770 - c. 1950's R. KEITH / Bergdorf Goodman Black Satin Wiggle Dress with Matching Evening Coat! I wish I could give you information on R. Keith, but my quick research comes up with nothing! Possibly an in-house designer for Bergdorf Goodman - as their label is prominently displayed. Obviously a great designer, as this evening coat is particular terrific and quite similar to another satin evening coat I sold that was designed by Sophie, Saks Fifth Avenue's renowned in-house designer. The black satin matching dress is quite plain, but with hand stitched finishing. The dress certainly hugs your body as it should when covered with the voluminous gathered coat (the highlight of the outfit!) The coat has a shawl-like back collar, empire waist, and wonderfully gathered skirt. Measures: 30" bust, 25" waist, 33" hips, 42" long from shoulder to hem. Near Mint condition - both pieces. Coat along can be worn by a larger body than the dress. Approx. - SIZE 00 for dress
Approx. - SIZE 0-4 for coat

There is no question it would have had a great label.. as it's an extremely well-made garment! Sexy, but not revealing "v" neck, fitted waist, full slight bubble shaped skirt. Love the large pinwheel bows, one on bodice, one on skirt. Even the gold satin interior is lovely. Back metal zipper. Excellent condition. Might have had a re-hemming at one point, but hardly an issue. Measures: 36" bust, 25/26" waist, 23" long from waist to hem. Kills me to sell this dress. Waaahhhhh. Approx. - Size 4/6

#4805 - c. 1945 CASA DRESDEN, Cochabamba Dark (nearly black) Navy Wool Suit with Tie Belt and Gray Persian Lamb Trim! Ok.. here's your geography lesson for the day. And you just thought this was a vintage clothing website! :) Cochabamba is a city in central Bolivia. As I read "the city is known for its moderate climate and often called Bolivia's "Resort City", "Garden City" or "City of Eternal Spring". Sounds great... but then WHAT did this highly fashionable woman need such a heavy winter suit for???? Can anyone say "Global Warming??" Looks like Al Gore is on the right track... must be a heck of a lot warmer there now! So now think Eva Peron to evoke the glamour of this great fashionable suit. Interesting seaming detailing on jacket, with the lovely gray persian lamb trim on deep pockets, lapels and those "star trek" decorative inverted "v"s at upper chest. Simple basic side metal zipper skirt with back kick pleat. Fully lined jacket. Skirt measures: 25" waist, 36/37" hips, 27" long from waist to hem. Jacket is nearly impossible to measure as it's a wrap style... the bust could fit up to 38" bust likely, and no closures at the waist, it's 14" across back between armseams, 16" across shoulders, 25" long from back neck to hem. Excellent condition. Go vintage and wear with ankle strap shoes and red lipstick, or go modern and wear great jacket with jeans! Great look! Rare label. Approx. - Size 6

Click on image for additional photos!#4600 - c. 1960's PIERRE CARDIN "Jeunesse", Paris, Made in France Purple Tweed Suit with Matching Coat! Hand Labeled and Deaccessioned from Museum! Actually Jeunesse is the youth line, but as you can see, this is COUTURE level with the hand-written tags on both the jacket and the coat! They match exactly, but I suppose the two different names allow for customers who wanted to buy the suit as a skirt and coat, or to buy the suit as a skirt and jacket...or as this original customer did... to buy all three pieces to mix and match! Only detail besides the fabulous color wool tweed of purple, blue, teal, rose and black., is the matching bow at front of jacket, and tie neck of coat. Measures: 34-35" bust (no large backs best), 19" long jacket, 24.5" waist skirt, 36" tops! hips (best 34"), 21" long skirt with 3" hem, 42" long coat, 18" across back coat, 3/4 sleeve lengths. There is 2.5" of material in the skirt hem if you need it for any reason to increase skirt a bit. Hidden snap closures on jacket and coat. Back metal zipper back of skirt is even couture... as it's rose colored to match! Excellent, near Mint condition. Labeled old size 8, but smaller in today's sizing. This outfit could easily be worn and then returned to a museum! Approx. - SIZE 2/4 (small waist and hips)

Feels like the finest silk you have ever felt, however the label says it's a blend of Viscose and Acetate. Hard to believe!! Really... you will love the feel of this! It's a tuxedo suit... with flat front pants that have a tuxedo satin stripe down sides, high waist and side zipper. Beside the gorgeous fabric, it's the organdy-type fabric double layer lapels that make this so fancy and special. The jacket has no closures and can be worn open or wrapped as you see. Note: the sash is not part of the suit, I just used one to show you how it might look wrapped and belted. You may prefer it open. The finest tailored pieces match patterns perfectly at seams! Check out this beauty!! Obviously a top-of-the-line Dior suit. Both pieces fully lined. Measures: Hard to measure bust as it's open to waist, 31" waist, up to 40" hips jacket for wrapped jacket, up to 44" hips pants, 16/5" across jacket back between armseams, 17" long sleeve underarm to cuff, , 8" flat width across hem of tapered legs. Near Mint condition. Padded shoulders for shape. Labeled size 46. The charts say that's a US 16, but ... seems smaller. Approx. - SIZE 10/12

Click on image for additional photos!#9819 - c. early 1970's WILSON FOLMAR Wild Print Silk Twill Dress with Matching Small Shawl! This may have been one of the last dresses designed by Wilson Folmar as he designed from 1936-1972. Per vintagefashionguild.org: Starting as head designer for prestigious department store Jay-Thorpe, he went on to design for Edward Abbott in 1957 and then on to his own company in 1964 producing medium to high priced cocktail and evening clothes (price ranging from $150 - $1500!!!! - in the late 1960's-early 70's a huge mansion could cost only $100K!!!!). Quite an interesting dress! The cuffs and hemline and edge of the small matching triangular shawl are like a fabric fringe, but more like cutouts. Oh heck, just look at the photos. I can't possibly describe with my limited vocabulary! Nor will I try to describe the print. But I will tell you that this dress gives you a lovely cleavage with it's low rounded neckline and curved empire waistband. Measures: 33/34" bust, 27" high waistline, 46" long from shoulder to dress bottom with additional 4.5" "fringe" which makes for a long sleeve length. Scarf measures 44" x 18". Fits tightly under the arms (as was the style of the time). Back metal zipper. Excellent condition with just one line of dirt at upper back (shown in photo - try to find it!). Approx. - SIZE 4

For some reason makes me think of Grace Kelly. Can't tell you why, or what she wore that was similar... but I have some image in the back of my mind. Anyway.... Donald Brooks is becoming more and more a collectable label. This dress is in Near Mint condition. Black nubby, fairly substantial weight linen with silk lining. Wide box pleating on skirt and gathered waist covered with thin tie belt. Button back upper and zipper lower. The decoration is heavy circles of cording around neckline and waistline. Measures: 34" bust, 24" waist, 38"+ hips, 23.5" long from waist to hem. Silk lined. The interior waistband measures 22", but you don't need to close that.. and who could? :) ! Approx. - SIZE 2

Click on image for additional photos!#4619 - c. 1965 PIERRE CARDIN, Paris/New York Mushroom Colored Wool Knit Mod Dress! Museum De-accession! First things first... this dress was missing its original skinny black belt, so I found one that looks nearly perfect. I will keep it with the dress. Otherwise, the dress is NEAR MINT condition! The design is very Cardin - who had an interest in architecture which shows up in his designs. This dress gives the illusion of wrap, but it isn't. Great detailing at the yoke and hemline of horizontal top-stitching gives it the "modern" look. The color is something like a purply-gray... unique! The buttons are ornamental black leather. Back zipper. Measures: 34/35" bust, up to 33" waist, up to 39" hips, 38" long from shoulder to hem. Since it's a knit wool, there is some stretch, though it's fully silk lined. Has the museum tags attached. Approx. - SIZE 6/8

There are no labels in this dress, but it's the same quality good-weight linen and the white lace bodice is elegant and lined with nude material ... and the shape is certainly lady-like and regal enough to make me wonder if indeed it was owned by the Queen as well. No guarantees, but seems a good possibility! Measures: 36" bust, up to 27.5" waist, 29.5" ribcage (top of waistband), 41" long from shoulder to hem. Excellent condition. Approx. - SIZE 6/8

Don't believe it! Couldn't get it anywhere close to closing on my body. Just shows you how much sizes have changed over the years. Great linen dress with heavy silver zipper up the front with the 1960's classic circle ring zipper tab! Red linen bodice with slight low waistline and black and white large colorblocked skirt front and back. I don't know anything about the Davis Church label... looks London Mod to me, yet has a "Made in USA" label so it's a British knock-off. Break out your white vinyl boots and download "These Boots are Made for Walking" to your Ipod! :) Fully lined. Excellent condition exterior. The lining had a little color bleed through. Measures: 30" bust, 26" waist, 34" hips, (no give - these are the measurements!), 33" long from shoulder to hem. Approx. - SIZE 0

FINAL COLLECTION! Here's your ONLY chance to buy THE gown you saw coming down the runway on Bravo's hit show "Project Runway". Designed by Season 2 winner, Chloe... this was by far (in my opinion), the best looking gown of the entire season! Purchased directly from Bravo TV, this gown still has the double stick tape inside the bust to keep it looking great on the model (as left) as she sashayed down the catwalk, AND comes with the original two goldtone bangle bracelets. The tailoring of this gown is totally professional. The material is fabulous! A green woven cotton gauze chiffon lined in glorious feeling silk with tulip embroidery and clear sequin/beads for just a hint of glitter. Empire waist with low cleavage front and back. Two long flowing "tails" at back to flutter along with the hem of the gown as you walk. Looks amazing on as long as you have small cup size breasts. If my breasts were smaller, I would keep this in a heartbeat! Measures: 33" bust, 25" waist, 62" long from shoulder to hem. NOTE: INVESTMENT PIECE! Imagine owning Calvin Klein's first collection piece.. or Donna Karan, or Ralph Lauren... or any top designer! Who knows what future value this dress may have if Chloe "makes it big"! Sexy bodice top gown under, covered with a wild printed chiffon or flowers and large dots. The shoulders are huge.. held up with sheer stiffening!! But amazingly, this gown doesn't overwhelm even the shortest, smallest women. FYI, George Stavropoulos was a Greek designer whose flowing chiffon gowns were expensive, never mass produced, and coveted by celebrities and the well-to-do. Stavropoulos's designs were simple and clean, relying on the beauty of their silhouettes and chiffon fabrics. He continued designing until his death in 1990. Now.. back to the dress.... The waist scarf is mine.. doesn't come with the gown. Go find your own in whatever color suits you, or wear without. Back zipper. Measures: 33" bust, 25" waist, 42" long from waist to hem. There are 4 layers of the skirt, silk crepe and chiffon. Lovely on! The condition is excellent.. except for the barely seen light staining of underarm of the slipdress. Approx. - Size 2/4

Wanna drive him insane? Start unzipping! Or better yet... let him do the honors. :) The fine wool broadcloth feels great! The shape of the dress is basic... but it's the detailing that is "VERY MONTANA". He was known for his leather works and borrowing elements from the motorcycle clad-gay scene. Heavy silver metal zippers on both sides of the front, and on the sleeves. The back of the dress has a half belt of heavy silver metal links attached at the sides to give the dress more shape. Only slight shoulder pads prove this not to be from the powerhouse shoulder-padded 1980's. Top of the line Montana... not the less expensive line. Every women likely had at least one in her closet. They were made in British Hong Kong and are sequins on a wool knit base. SO comfortable to wear, and yet very dressy! The perfect combination for those of you who rip off your evening clothes as soon as you get home and get into your sweats! You aren't alone!! :) Great swirl floral design of shell white and clear sequins on pink wool knit base. Scoop neckline, sweet little cap sleeves and long slit at side of skirt. At one point there was a thin elastic inside the waistline to create a slightly blouson effect, but the elastic is stretched out, and is totally unnecessary, and probably unwanted anyway for a long, lean look. Back metal zipper. Measures: up to 40" bust, up to 31" waist, up to 46" hips, 16" slit from hem on side. Excellent condition. Approx. - SIZE 10 / perhaps 12

Own a piece of fashion history! This piece is dated on the tag to 9/86... and her first collection/show was in 1986 (so this would have been from her first collection!). The Cuban born Isabel Toledo is an interesting story. Her fashions are on display in prestigious museums such as FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology, NYC; The Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC; The Textile Museum at the Louvre, Paris; and Kent State University, and even designed costumes for Noel Coward's 2001 production of "The Vortex" off-Broadway. She obviously never wore it as it still has the original $ 1,050. tag!! SO.. you get to buy it at less than 1/3rd the price..even though it's good as new! And THAT'S why you shop vintage! :) Marked size 44. Similar to the simplicity of an Armani gown. Unfortunately, the extreme beauty of this gown is in the fabrication, which is hard to feel and see through your computer screen! :) Wonderful feel to the silk chiffon! And OH the coloration! Totally unique!! It's almost a changeable and graduated chiffon (could almost look like velvet from afar). The only styling is the seam stripe down the center.... giving a bit of a "mod" look... like something Emma Peel might have worn in the 1990s! :) Measures: up to 36" bust (but also looks great on smaller, I'm 33" "c" bust and looks fine on me), up to 30" waist (perhaps 31"), up to 42" hips (perhaps 43"), will hit the ground on 5'3" women... so best for 5'4" in heels to wear and be able to walk without stepping on it. Measures: 34" bust (33" with 'c' cup, 34" with 'a/b' cup), 25/26" waist, up to 38" hips, 24" long from waist to hem... with additional 4" hem (was originally 3" longer). Tomato red silk twill in a striking floral pattern of pinks and greens. Wide scoop neckline, shore sleeves, fitted bodice to stiffened bubble skirt studded with bows. Click on image for additional photos!#4558 - c. 1980's ANDREA ODICINI, Giorgio Beverly Hills Movie Star Quality Silk Satin Gown! Thanks to one of my very knowledgeable customers, I have information on Andrea Odicini for you! He is considered by Italian women who know couture to rank along side, or even above, Valentino,... who is known to also pay Odicini great homage!! Odicini ranks tops and is absolutely revered. His creations were/are absolutely coveted... although he is not well known outside of Italy. From a wealthy Genoese family, he was able to pick and chose his clientele. If he did not like you, or if he thought that you did not understand fabrics and construction, he would not design for you! When he moved his atelier from Rome to Genoa, many women would journey to Genoa just to buy his creations because no one could equal his collections. He is the best of the best... bar none. He has incredible style, and his dresses are beautifully made.. inside and out -- just incredible. And, of course, they are costly, but Odicini would never ever compromise quality of fabric (using the best silks etc.) and the finest construction, so women were happy to pay his prices because they knew what they were getting. In the 80's, he finally agreed to make a ready-to-wear line, but his creations were still ultra costly. Bottomline.. Odicini equals incredible works of art! So.. for you... an ecru silk satin gown with button sleeves. Likely had shoulder pads at some time, but if you are tall, it can be worn without. Huge pearl and smoky glass ornament at front. Now take a look at all the photos! I used a bit of imagination to change the look of the gown by just moving the "tails" front and back, around the waist, or draped on hips. Have fun with it! Not sure what was originally intended, but I believe (by the same knowledgeable person) that Odicini likely originally made the design for Gina Lollabrigida, as she peronally saw her wearing it in Cannes, France! Condition: Excellent condition with just minor satin pulls (no more than you would find in a store today!). Measures: 36" bust, 26" waist, up to 36" hips, 59" long from shoulder to hem. Back zipper. Be a Hollywood star!

Click on image for additional photos!#4418 - c. 1960's SAMUEL WINSTON by ROXANNE Golden Yellow Satin Gown! OK I confess (though you'd never know.. and if I was anyone else I'd just keep this to myself... but... )... I bought this gown and the hemline was completely dirty (she must have sloshed through the mud .. I just hope it was AFTER the ball!) Her shoes must have really been trashed.. I wonder if she was running in her glass slippers through the mud as the clock was striking midnight! :) Anyway, whether this was originally owned by Cinderella or not, I had a professional hem up the gown so all the dirt at the hem is gone. The gown was originally extremely long, so there was plenty of material to hem up. Now the only issue to mention are a couple very small dirt marks on skirt (lost in folds) and one light round spot on bodice (that is seen in certain lighting conditions - see second to last photo for close-up). SO.... this is a gown perfect for a budding fashion designer! You can decorate or embellish if you want it to look perfect!!! Otherwise, it's still extremely wearable as is. The sash belt comes with it with an already tied bow at waist. Back metal zipper. Measures: 36" bust, 25" waist, 41" long from waist to hem. Has crinoline under for that vintage pouf. Back metal zipper. Approx. - Size 4/6 (larger bust/smaller waist)

I'm hoping it's somebody out there!!! I even added the tie at the waist just to give it some shape (only because I personally look lousy in non-fitted dresses).. but again... there are other women who look incredible in straight shapes.. so why am I forcing my sensibilities on you???? It's FENDI after all.... and certainly it was an expensive gown. Under the off-the-shoulder neckline of black fox, it's a sleeveless columnar sheath of black silk chiffon, dotted all over with fur pompoms accented with a single black sequin. The hem is also black fox. The gown has a black silk crepe underlay. There are no closures, it just goes on over the head. It's probably worth 5+ times the price below! You are just lucky it's "not me". The tie waist doesn't come with the dress (nor should it! :). Approx. - Size 8

For all you collectors who like to find the numbered, dated pieces.. how about a great Christian Dior coat? Fabulous double-breasted plush coat... interesting fabric.. I'm sure there is a name for it, but alas... my lack of education is showing! Don't tell anyone! The fabric feels like something between a silk velvet and a silk corduroy (though the fabric label in the pocket reads "silk, acetate, acrylic, polyamine." Though I don't know if the label is correct to the coat.. so... I guess if you know polymine to the touch... you are a heck of a lot smarter than I! :) Whatever it is.. its fabulous to the touch.Measures: 45" long from shoulder to hem. Excellent condition.. with just a tiny patch of lining torn under one arm not seen at all on outside (see photo), and one button that needs to be sewn back on (it's in the pocket... I pinned it on for the photograph, but you really don't want me to attempt to sew it. Really... you don't! :) Also in the pocket is more tag info from Bergdorf Goodman. Approx. - Size approx. 8/10

Click on image for additional photos!#4580 - c. 1980's Mocha Silk Chiffon Gown Encrusted with Beads, Rhinestones, Sequins, etc.! I'm sure by now you have heard about the Bob Mackie auction where his fully beaded gowns sold for thousands (up to $17,000)! This gown is very similar in feel to the 1982 Bob Mackie gown which sold for $5,000. (still listed in my museum section) . So.. though this is not a Mackie gown... it's as good as... and no one will know but you. And when "they" say, "Oh my.. is that a Mackie?" Just smile! And you don't have to just take my word for it, this gown comes directly from the historic Chew family of Cliveden Mansion, in the Germantown area of N.W. Philadelphia, PA since 1763. The mansion is now part of the National Trust. So you can't have the mansion.. but you can have the gown! Great mocha colored silk chiffon with every square inch covered with beads, rhinestones, or sequins! Egyptian in design with large trompe o'oeil belt and buckle! Fully lined. The photos were taken with the wide 1980's shoulder pads still attached... however, I removed them to make sure it was possible to wear with more modern shape, and indeed... it's perfect without the pads! So... the dress is even more perfectly beautiful now! Has a great rounded slit at front of skirt matching the cuffline. Excellent condition.. I see only two beads missing near one shoulder! They may be more, but those are the only two spotted. Hidden back zipper. Measures: 36" bust, up to 30" waist, up to 38" hips, 59" long from shoulder to hem. Approx. - Size 8

[ORDER ITEM - #9710]#9710 - c. 1966 JEAN LOUIS COUTURE White Clear Iridescent Plastic Paillette Gown! One of my all time favorite movies is "Two For The Road" with Albert Finney and (my girl) Audrey Hepburn. In one of the scenes in the flick, Audrey is wearing a short version of this dress.. with matching drop earrings. I always thought it was an amazing piece. And so.... fast forward years later... I was offered this gown to sell and jumped at the chance! I figure I'm not the only one who coveted Audrey's dress! Guess we'll find out! AND this gown was designed by the famous Jean Louis Couture label! (most of you know Jean Louis as the designer of Marilyn Monroe's "Mr. President" gown.. as well as head designer for Columbia Pictures for 15 years 1944-1959 - most often dressing Rita Hayworth). Condition is Good.. One shoulder could use a few more paillettes, and the paillettes on the back butt are slightly bent from sitting. Sheer crepe sleeves, White lining. Measures: 34" bust, up to 32" waist, up to 38" hips, 52" long from shoulder to hem. Back metal zipper. I hate to suggest someone re-vamp a vintage dress.. but... for those of you who want... I might shorten to a dress.. then you have plenty of paillettes to use as necessary... and you ARE Audrey Hepburn! Approx. - SIZE 6 short

Some day I they will create the software that will allow that to be a reality, but until that day, you will have to trust me when I tell you stuff. This was without a doubt one of the most expensive ribbon dresses when new! Not your "run of the mill". Nope. This is a fabulous feeling silk ribbon, and very heavy and thick.. nearly soft enough to sleep on! Then if you look closely you will see steel beading and hanging beads decorating all over the intricate floral design. Modified sweetheart neck, short sleeves, back metal zipper. Measures: 35/36" bust, up to 30" waist, up to 37" hips, 37" long from shoulder to hem. Because this dress is thick.. it's better for those of you who aren't always looking for a dress that will hug your body. Rather this dress has a form of it's own. You will wear the dress.. the dress will not wear you! :) Near mint condition. Approx. - SIZE 8/10

Martha Weathered was a very exclusive shop one of the fine ladies' shops on Chicago's Magnificent Mile (Michigan Ave). One of my favorite 1920's beaded dresses came from this shop, and now... ta da!.... my favorite cape! A navy blue wool cape in a nubby texture. The shape is open, there are not closures. Padded shoulders and swing back. What makes it so special is the white sequin deco floral design at front and back! Condition you ask? Near mint! I really can't find anything wrong with it! Full rayon lining. Measures: 42" long from back neck to hem, 118" around bottom! There is nothing else to measure.. it will fit a small to largish woman (though might be a bit too much for small, short woman). I might add one hook/eye at front neckline to secure it, but doesn't look like it ever had anything. The deco design on this cape is absolutely thrilling!! Click on image for additional photos!#4351 - c. 1930's Electric Blue Lace Gown with Original Blue and Magenta Taffeta Rayon Slip! Tired of black? Get some color in your vintage wardrobe! How's this for different! Bright blue lace gown in a floral pattern bordered with Art Deco zig-zags It features extremely chic gigot sleeves that were the height of fashion in the early to mid-30s - they were heralded as an 1830s "revisited" style. There is a bit of horsehair inside upper sleeve to attain a puff. The sexy low back dips seductively, and the row of 13 buttons. The waist is slightly raised in front and dips lower in back to emphasize curvy hips; the bias skirt falls gracefully to the floor. The original silky rayon underdress also plays a major role - its vivid magenta border peeks through to accent a sweetheart neckline and straps; a 10" magenta hem border swirls around the ankles. So you can wear the gown with this slip, or change the look and choose a nude or white slip! It's up to you! However, you'll have to be tiny for this dress if you wear it with the original slip (or you'll have to somehow increase the size of the slip). There is no give to the side snap slip, and it measures: 30" bust, up to 27" waist, up to 39" hips, 58" long slip from shoulder to hem. The dress has some stretch and will fit on me (tightly) with 34" bust, 60" long. Excellent condition for both pieces! Strong lace! It looks like one button may be missing from the very bottom at back, and I see one seam separation at bottom of slip (ah, if only I had a sewing machine!). It's a delightful survivor of the romantic fashions of the 1930s - the Great Depression era. Approx. - SIZE 0/2 - 4
