#9972 - c. 1870s Princess Front Bustle Gown of Two-tone Sage Green Silk Taffetas with Tassel Trim One-piece Gown!  Yup... another great bustle gown in a wearable size!  My favorite thing to find! :) Actually that's not true... I prefer 20's headpieces, but hey, I'm not on a lie detector machine! Two-tone sage gray/green taffeta of one piece (looks like two).  Love the diagonal detailing at the front. I'm having a little trouble dating specifically.. but I think 1876-77?  I might have expected more of a "mermaid" trained back with this front?  I'm just showing my ignorance now... or perhaps it's just those menopausal symptoms of forgetfulness that everyone talks about?  Now, where was I?  I wish I could tell you that this gown is in the same nearly pristine condition that I mostly try to sell.  However, this piece has had perfectly matched gussets under the arms, and still there are underarms stains.  There is some minor spotting here and there, and some simple tacking that needs sewing (I could do it and I can't sew!), and a few tassels missing at the front, but most all are there everywhere else!  Basically however the material is strong and the gown is wearable. Inside the hemline you will see much wear, but that's INSIDE (see photos).   Still a beauty!  I've priced this gown to reflect these issues... Otherwise it would have been $1,895 at least! :)   Measures:  36" bust, up to 30" waist.
