HOLLYWOOD BOOT SHOP, Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, CA Cornflower
Blue Flapper T-Strap Shoes! EARLY
FERRAGAMO DESIGNED SHOES!
According to my Google search,
The Italian born Savatore Ferragamo moved to the USA in the 1914,
and eventually went to work for the film industry as a shoe and boot
maker. His custom shoes were so elegant that certain
actors and actresses started asking him to make shoes for them
off-screen. So in 1923, Ferragamo opened a shop in Hollywood
called the Hollywood Boot Shop and quickly became known as the
"shoemaker of the Stars" His customers included Rudolph Valentino,
Douglas Fairbanks, Mary Pickford and Gloria Swanson. In 1927,
Ferragamo decided to relocate his company to Italy. SO... are
you following me... hmmm? That means that these shoes are
dated between 1923-1927 and are one of the earliest Ferragamo shoes
you can have! I just love re-living history in clothing!!
I figure what's good enough for Mary Pickford (one of the highest
paid actresses in the 1920s) is good enough for me! The condition is
good, not perfect. They have a bit of fading of the blue silk
faille and they just have a more "vintage overall wear" than I
usually sell, but for this history and this label.... you gotta
overlook that. They ARE beautiful.... just what you would
expect from Ferragamo. 3" heel.
