Found in the
same collection as the Jean
Desses dress black petal
dress soon to go up! I
sent photos of this dress to
my "expert" to see if he
might be able to identify
what designer it might be
attributed to. It's
one of those that makes you
ache to know! He wrote
"When I first saw this
dress, the beautifully
draped bodice, brought to
mind two possible
designers... both Jean
Desses and Jacques Griffe".
This dress is made of an
absolutely beautiful
hand-printed chiffon over a
silk twill under-lining that
is hand-printed to match,
lending a vivid, almost
3-dimensional effect to the
skirt fabric as it moves.
The bodice of the dress is
made with a Grecian style
draped over-layer of
chiffon. There is a gathered
cummerbund waistband that is
richly accented with beads
and sequins at the center.
This embroidery
gives the dress a
distinctive elegance using
beads carefully shaded to
match the print underneath.
Exquisite attention to
detail makes this an
outstanding dress! Back
metal zipper. Measures:
40" bust, up to 31" waist,
up to 40" hips, 45" long
from shoulder to hem.
Excellent condition...
