PATOU, Paris Black Velvet Hat with Tall Feather Plume
and Full Face Veil! Cocktail hat of black velvet with a
paradise plume. This hat should probably be sold for a higher
price, but I'm just not savvy enough to know why it was one of the
higher priced hats I bought from the museum collection. I'd
love to tell you why, but I don't know! Damn! So that
means if you are smarter than I (and many of you are), you will
likely know what it is that makes this so special.... beside the
obvious wackiness of the tall feather plum and the top Parisian
designer label. Excellent condition. Even the full face
veil looks to be mint. Trimmed with black round beads at the top
edge. The back is really cool, as it is held on the head with
a stiff back large velvet looping. I love the shape of the hat
laying down! The only "non-excellent" is the lining which is
a bit stained, but never seen when worn. Will fit a normal 22" sized
head.
