Nolan Miller Designed Lavender French Lace Nightgown and Charmeuse Negligee for Joan Collins in Her Role as Alexis on Dynasty. Ca.1985. Night gown: French lace; negligee: charmeuse, French lace; Label: Nolan Miller; Dress Size: 6/8.
With her flare for fashion and perfect size 8 body, Nolan enjoyed designing for Joan Collins and continues to this day. In her role as 'Alexis," Joan was often dressed in negligees. These gowns played an important role in the costuming for Dynasty, as there were many bedroom scenes and special attention was given to what the ladies slept in. Just as Linda Evan's padded shoulders started a craze, part of the resurgence in interest in night ware during this period is clearly attributed to the hundreds of negligees seen on Dynasty. The episode aired is unknown for this negligee and gown which are in Fine condition with some light staining on lace dressing gown. There is some incomplete piecing of the bodice lace, which is probably original to the piece. From the Nolan Miller Collection.
