#6432- c. 1950's HENRI
HALPHEN, 52 rue de Passy, Paris Black Print with Roses Cotton
Pique Dress! I really have to stop buying dresses that give me
such heartache to sell! I have no idea who Henri Halphen is, but
it's as wonderful a dress as you would expect from a Parisian designer!!
I have to assume if I got my hands on a few French Vogue magazines from
the 50's, I'd likely find references. Meanwhile... this should be
considered a high-end Parisian dress. Quite heavyweight cotton pique
material of black with blush pink/green leaf design. The detail of
the design HAVE to be seen, so I've lighted up a few photos to see the
asymmetrical neckline, diagonal "wrap" bodice which continues across the
skirt, ending in a single matching button, creating the front wide
scallop at front hemline. Metal zipper at side. Excellent
condition with just a few minor pulls in the fabric. Has a 4" hem,
so could be longer (though I like at this length!). Shown with a
crinoline under (doesn't come with it). Measures: 34"
bust, 26" waist.
