#6188 - c. 1841 Black and White Broche with
Black Kid Heelless Shoes! Near Mint , Museum Quality Condition!! These shoes were dated by someone a heck of a
lot smarter than me! I would have dated them as c. 1830's.
BUT... as a matter of fact, most of these great
shoes came from his massive collection so who am I to argue!
His collection is now being scattered to the
winds... or, to those smart of you to snap up a few pairs! It
took him many years to accumulate this great collection... you can do it
all in one click of your mouse. Ain't that grand! Look
at the other photos to see the front of the square-toed flat,
heelless shoes. And the bottom to see that there is no right
and no left sole shape (straight lasts). Shaping didn't start
until about the 1830's, but many remained straight through the
1850's. These shoes are in remarkable, Near Mint
condition, and are certainly desirable in the B&W broche ("woven
with a pattern") paired with the black kid. The ties even seem
original. Perhaps one of the best, cleanest pair from this decade
I've seen! I give the measurements as people ask, but they
don't mean anything! Measures: 9 3/4" long x 2" wide.
SOLD - but on display in
Museum Category for Research/Display
