#6046 - c. 1935 ANDREW GELLER, New York Bordeaux Serge Fabric Shoes Trimmed in Alligator! Top designers Andrew Geller, Roger Vivier, Charles Miller, Ferragamo and Andre Perugia were the Jimmy Choo and Manolo Blahnik of the 1930's. The Andrew Geller label still exists, but only because the name was sold off... so the quality of contemporary Andrew Geller shoes have nothing to do with the pricey, high-end quality of the vintage Gellers. These are a very early pair and, according to shoe fashion history, these are a classic example of 1935 shoes! Toes were rounded, straps got interesting, tiny perforated dots were used, toe boxes and heel caps were decorated, the use of exotic hides was chic and the color choices of wine, maroon and navy were in vogue. Seems after 1935, pastel colors were more in style... and then just prior to WWII, bright colors became more vogue. In Excellent condition with just one tiny spot found (see photos), these were worn, but still look nearly new and very worthy of display, or in a museum. Measures: 9.5" long x 2.5" wide. Approx. - SIZE 4 AAAA
SOLD - but on display in Museum Category for Research/Display
