#4643
- c. 1951 RARE JEAN DESSES, Paris Dark Blue "Height of
Fashion" Suit! This would have been one
of those fashions I'm sure was profiled in Parisian
Vogue... so uniquely styled! Especially the skirt!!!
Go look at it.. NOW! Really... click on the photo at
the left and you will see just what I'm talking
about! Like wings at back!! The jacket itself is a
masterpiece of design and construction with the
unique diagonal double-breasted shape, fitted and
flared. The material is a woven blue and black which
just looks dark blue at first glance. Round shiny
buttons adorn. Measures: 38" bust, 28"
waist, 30" long skirt, 7/8 length sleeves,
possibly hemmed up (2.5" hem), but can be
re-hemmed. Excellent condition other than the two
tiny moth holes found (easily rewoven with this type
fabric).. one on cuff, one of bodice front (which
could have been a brooch hole rather than a moth.
This suit deserves a museum or museum collection!!!
SOLD - but on
display in Museum Category for Research/Display
