#3690 - c. 1916 Evening Gown of Apple Green Chinese Silk Damask Dramatically Draped over Gold Lame Lace over Gold Lame Lining! Here's another gown to get your heart rate up! Shocking apple green colored silk damask sets off this gown with just enough "splash" to make heads turn. So different, I'm not sure where to start, but perhaps at the unique wired panniers! Yup, thinly wired so that they stick out without having to wear a pannier undergarment.... and they can be easily "smushed" back in so they aren't noticeable. Your choice! There is a wedding gown type train holder so you can dance in this (as she probably did!). Fabulous gold lame lace is so wispy!! All over a fine, fine gold lame sheath. Nearly invisible chiffon covers the bodice and sleeves. Remarkable green stones hold up the silk pieces front and back and at gold lame straps! One little velvet flower decoration at bust. Excellent condition with hardly mentionable slight lame pulls at bottom of shoulder straps... and more extensive pulls in undersheath lame lining (of no concern unless you pull up the lace), and barely seen dirt/water mark on train. Hardly any tarnishing! This could easily end up in a museum... no question!
SOLD - but on display in Museum Category for Research / Study
