#3515 - c. 1850's Fantastic Antique Pagoda
Sleeve Print Gown! This gown is made of soft challis in
a vibrant umbra shades of teal blue and green floral stripes
interwoven with red and white stylized floral stripes. The pagoda
style sleeves are trimmed on the edge with dark teal blue cotton
fringe. The neck, armscye, waist and top of the sleeve flounce
are all piped. It has a drop shoulder line. The bodice closes
down the front with black buttons that are edged with gold. The
bodice is boned in front and lined in dark tan cotton. The sleeve
flounces are lined with dark green cotton. The full skirt is
attached to the waist with cartridge pleating and has one hidden
side pocket. The skirt is unlined except for a wide band of brown
and white calico print cotton. This gown is in wonderful
condition. There is no underarm discoloration and only a few very
minor ware spots to the material. There is no age spotting and
just a couple of less than 1¦2 inch areas of color loss at the
edge of the hem. The gown is all hand sewn. What a wonderful
treasure to add to your collection and a fine example of the
types of print that were used during this time period. Bust 34
ins. Waist 26 ins. Length of skirt 45 inches. Width at edge of
skirt 104 inches.
