#3439 - c. 1904 A. ARDIZOJA, Robes & Confections, Genes Elaborate Ivory Wool Coat! No wonder they used the word "Opulant" to describe the fancy clothing of the Turn of the Century (no, not the turn of the 21st century... think back 100 years!). What else would you use to describe something like this?? Exquisite ivory wool coat with buff-colored velvet gathered and runched in circular patterns around the open "v" cape-like collar and cuffs. Magnificent Venise lace down both sides of the front, all the way around the hemline and even down the sides under the incredibly full, huge sleeves! Lace circle appliques with light blue centers. Long lace will engulf your hands at cuffs. Mostly excellent condition exterior with just one dark spot on one of the lace appliques and spot on one of the lace cuffs. Other than that, there is just some mellowing of the lace around the hemline... gives it a nice "patina". However, the silk lining is another story and will need to be replaced or removed. I prefer to sell items in Excellent condition without lining problems, but hey... when items are this spectacular on the outside.
SOLD - but on display in Museum Category for Research/Study
