#3409 - c. 1915 ALTEMUS, Philadelphia Ornate Purple Taffeta Evening Gown with Lace and Rhinestone Buttons! Larger Size! You have to wonder where she went in this gown! Must have been one heck of a bash! And just look at that wired back lace collar! It's a must have for your collection. I don't really know where to begin on this gown... Humm.... There is a satin underlayer to the skirt and then three rows of stylized floral lace in ecru and black. Tiny ornamental rhinestone buttons from waist down skirt front. Then all this is wrapped in a fabulous purple taffeta that just POPS! Wrapping at the bodice creating a sexy edge at the breast. Dress includes a rhinestone ornament at left waist. The entire bodice and sleeves are layers of lace with little capelet over and that great wired stand up collar at back! It's a larger size, but it has some weakening of the taffeta at the stress points, minor lace holes, and weakness of underbodice, though ecru silk satin foundation is good. There is one spot on the ecru lace on the right breast. Measures: 36-38" bust, 32" waist, 40" long from waist to hem. Just incredible!
