#3307 - c. 1905 Black Net and
Velvet Ribbon 2-piece Reception Gown with Beads and
Sequins! RARE
Large, Wearable Size!
Awesome! There is no question that this gown is gorgeous,
but it's the size that is So Amazing! So RARE. So I'll
start with the measurements. Measures: 40" bust,
32.5" waist, 41" long skirt in front, 47"
long skirt in back, 13" across back between armhole
seams. How's THAT! Now you can look at the gown. All
horizontal stripes of black netting and black velvet
ribbons. All of the ribbons are trimmed in black beads.
Then on top of all that are black sequined vertical
designs - like floral vines traveling up the gown. Same
sequined trim wraps around the entire hemline with a bit
of ruffled lace. The bodice matches the skirt except for
the midpiece which is an ecru lace "jabot",
accented with black ribbons, black chantilly lace and
black jet beaded tassles. Collar has just a hint of pink
velvet and ivory lace trim. The gown is too large for my
dressform, so the bodice isn't fitting well on her, and
the skirt was gathered more than it should at midback to
stay up! In one back photo I added a black velvet
waistband for the photo... not included. Excellent
condition. I have nothing really to mention as wrong! Has
black tafetta underskirt. Hard to read, but New York
labeled petersham.
