#3036 - c. late 1930's / early 1940's RARE
3-Piece Lightweight Wool Gabardine Suit and 3/4 Coat! Have
you seen any 1940's movies lately? If not, go rent a few and I
can almost guarantee that you will find a similar suit.... and
matching 3/4 coat... with the most stylish women wearing the coat
over the shoulders! Very Joan Crawford! Snappy chocolate and
cream tiny houndstooth check (which my camera obviously hates -
so don't wear on television!) skirt and matching jacket - with
mocha trim - and short coat! Feminine and flattering hourglass
shaping. Little fingertip pockets, button trim and medium
shoulder pads on the jacket. Great bakelite buttons!! Condition
is excellent. This garment is not worn out or
"tired"--it looks as if it was scarcely ever worn. The
jacket and skirt in particular are almost perfect. One cuff
button missing on jacket, one very faint spot along the edge
above the single button closure and one teensy hole each in the
skirt and jacket--both smaller than ONE of the tiny checks. The
coat has one tiny hole on the front at the button (take to the
tailor for an easy invisible weave to make perfect), and it has
minor issue of lining. But that's it. Otherwise--a fabulously
styled outfit. Add a little brown hat, gloves, a corde handbag
and some chocolate suede slingbacks. Lined jacket and coat and
unlined skirt. Side metal zip. Measures: 34/35" bust,
27" waist, up to 39" hips. Fits with a bit of a tight
30's fit at the back. The coat is, of course, larger and could
fit from a size 6-10.
