#0184 - c. 1940's Black Velvet Riding
Hat or Doll Hat! Unlikely this hat was worn
for riding in the 1940's, but without doubt it was certainly meant to evoke the Victorian riding
hat for a very stylish look! From afar, the velvet is designed
to look like the black beaver top hats and riding hats. Trimmed in
black grosgrain ribbon around crown and edge of brim. The dotted veil can be worn just
over the eyes, or wear up on the hat if you prefer, however there
are some holes in the veil, so you might want to replace for
perfection. Measures 9" x 9.5" oval x 3.5" high. Has the thin
elastic to hold on head (under hair at back).
